Hoping you do a search for the proper fit, learn to do the corrections, and how to use one since you are not working with a trainer.  Training is crucial.  Remember, these send messages and you want to gently communicate a message to the dog.  Not just use one to hold back so he does not pull you.

There are videos online.  Do a search for LEESBURG and I think he has a few videos online and for sale in dog training.  Worth every penny

For the amount of Food--make sure you read the package.  Some foods say two cups, others say, 3 cups.

In between meals we offer carrots or green beans sometimes if they seem hungry.  But yeah, a fat doodle is not good.  They have long skinny legs and the weight is hell on the knees.  Better to be thin than thick

Good. I think the prong works wonders too.  Remember, it simulates the mother.  What a novel concept.  They do understand their own mothers.  NOW, go online and find out how to use one to work with in your home training.  Learn SIT, DOWN, and how it is used in conjunction with your new collar.  Always use in a gentle manner, as if you are guiding a horse's bridle.  It gives them a suttle message without being a harsh correction.

You and he will be fine   :)   We have rubber tips on ours too.

Merrie Lynn,

Above is the link to the Easy Walk Harness by Gentle Leader.  They sell these in PetsMart and Petco.  You can go there and try them on but amazon.com usually sells the Tween size you might need and the price is cheaper
