Buddy passed his TDI and CGC cerification last week. I am so proud of him. Now I will be able to take him visiting in the hospital I work at and hopefully help make people feel better and happier. Congratulations Buddy!!!.

You don't need anything for the dog park at Peta.  They have a webcame so you can check out if there are any dogs there before making the treck to Norfolk.  Brinkley still has some puppy in him as far as excitment so I don't think he'd be good for therapy quite yet-- he just gets really excited when he meets people.  I'd be afraid he'd knock them over. :) But we are working on that.  I know what you mean about boarding-- I did find a place that does doggie day car and they only board dogs that have come for day care before.  They don't but them in kennel runs.  They believe that dogs are pack animals and should form packs and sleep in packs.  It's off of Virginia beach Blvd-- called Thee Dog House.  But hey, if Brinkley and Buddy get along, we'd always be up for having and extra Doodle for a bit.  Brinkley would LOVE it.  Here's the link to the Peta webcam http://features.peta.org/PETADogPark/---  I actually still take Brinkley there on Saturday mornings IF there are people there.  He's needed an outdoor break and will need it for a bit longer. He had longer hair- and even though we brushed him all the time, he got very matted (the cause: a combo of his adult hair and baby hair combining & the fact that he got a bit too curious and ran into a briar bush in field!)  He looks like a rat now and he gets cold!  But yes, we should meet-up when it gets a bit warmer!

Hey Rachel! Nice to "meet" you!  It's nice to meet another Doodle owner in the area.  My doodle LOVES to play-- he has so much energy. He just turned one on Thanksgiving.  We actaully drove to PA to get him.  We got him from Berlin View Kennels.  I loved the look of her dogs & her place was very nice-- you could tell the puppies were well cared for.  And the prices were great.  Do you ever take yoru doodle to the dog park?  We go to the PETA dog park quite a bit--it's a very nice park.  If I had a fence, I can guarentee you that we'd have a second doodle already-- Brinkley needs a friend that has his engergy!

Nice to meet you!

Heather

Rachel,
Flora is still available. You need to go to the website for All Things Pawssible in PA and fill out an application. Here's the link:
http://www.atpar.org/
You would need to go to the greater Philadelphia area to get her. Jodi (rescue lady) told me they had received some applications on her already, so if you're interested, you might want to follow up on it as soon as possible.
Let me know how things go.
All the best,
Deborah

There are two national organizations for doodle rescue:

IDOG and DRC -- if you are wanting a rescue dood, just place an application with BOTH of these places and they will keep you on their list when a dood matching your needs shows up!

We live near the old Newmarket Mall. We are a 5-10 minute walk (depends on how fast you want to walk! haha) from Sears. We are between Orcutt and Whealton.

hi Rachel, I think Buddy looks good. It is short but like you said it grows quickly. I still haven't gotten kensi to the groomer yet. I have actually been scissor cutting her myself, im still chicken to get her cut short lol.

thanks so much for the groomer info! I will be calling her in the next few weeks to have Kensi groomed. She is doing better today still real tired and sore though.

Hi Rachel hope the Holidays treated you well. I wanted to ask you if you take Buddy to a groomer in the area? I have only got Kensi groomed once (at Petsmart) and was not happy with the results. I don't want her trimmed short like a Poodle (which seems to be what most groomers do with doodles, i think it's lack of knowledge perhaps). Anyways, do you have a groomer you can recommend? I still would like to get Kensi and Buddy together at some point. She was just spayed today and the poor thing is like a zombie!
