- About Me:
- I am a 54 year old mother of 2 boys. Both are now college, so I got my golden doodle as a replacement child! I don't want my nest to be too empty!
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- I have a small female Golden doodle named Brandi that is the love of my life. She is now 2 1/2 years old and weighs 40 pounds. She is by far the best dog I have ever owned or even been around. She is cute and goofy but so lovable. She gives me a hug every time I come home.

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- I got my doodle for a few reasons. One is because I dislike having dog hair every where and I have allergies and really needed a dog with little or no shedding. Another reason was because I wanted to have a loving dog who would love me back unconditionally and just be fun to be around and take places. With my boys having grown up and leaving the nest, I needed a good companion. Up until Sept of 2010, I had a beautiful male springer spaniel for 10 years named Tucker who from day one was an alpha male. Over the years, he became progressively more and more aggressive and was constantly challenging me. Then in 2009, he bit my then 18 year old son over a small piece of tin foil. In April of 2010, I decided to get another dog (Brandi) as it was one of many efforts to tone down Tucker's alpha-male aggression. Amazingly, Tucker then became possessive over Brandi too and would growl at me when I went to pick her up. Then in August of 2010, he bit my boyfriend. That was the last straw. So I had to put him down. :( It was a very difficult decision to make after having him for so long (I got him as a puppy), but it simply wasn't fun (or safe) any more to have a dog around that growled at us all the time. However, I feel very blessed that I now have the most loving dog in the world and can't even imagine life with out her. She has totally stolen my heart!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- I love playing with her, making her 'dance' for us, and throwing the ball for her. I love taking her to the Farmers Markets in the summer time and I love walking her around the neighborhood and at the dog parks. And (dare I admit) I like sleeping with her! Am I pitiful or what? But she gently wakes me up in the morning by trying to spoon with me and then by trying to play with me...
- Does your doodle(s) shed?
- A little bit but nothing major
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- In the summer, I groom her on my back deck. But when it's cold I take her to Ace Grooming and they do a fanstastic job.
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- Any toy with NO stuffing in them but that has a squeaker in it. She loves balls of all types!
