Mick "Jagger" 1 yr+ old cat

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Pet store

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Therapy dog we were told who only grow to a medium size.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Play and let him sit on my lap.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Both of us

Thanks so much for all of the welcomes to the Doodles.

My husband and I loved looking through all of the doodle pics. The main reason we said yes to a doodle without investigating it was because my husband is a double amputee, legally blind, etc. complications from diabetes and the pet shop person told us he would be great as a therapy dog. We have been told by neighbors that he will settle down. He will be two in April 2010. He is so sweet, he offered a friends dog his toy. He is so loving, he kissed our neighbor's tears away when she lost all of her income and her workmen's comp. He is a great caregiver, he licks my husbands stumps all the time trying to make him feel better. Then there is the "zoomie" Ozzie that gets into everything to get my attention or barks in the middle of the night because he wants company and I have to work in the morning :(
We love him more every day even though we had second thoughts when my husband was really sick if my husband could handle him or not when I was away at work.

What is the best application to prevent fleas?

I am using the usual from the vet but am interested in other applications. I have read that apple cider vinegar or Avon Skin So Soft is good. What do you think? Would that really work in repelling them?

Pull and STOP, car ride, bark-bark-bark

I used the advice that someone gave me about every time Ozzie pulls me when I am walking him to stop. I noticed when I stop if I wait for his body to relax then he will walk normally until the next light pole, stop sign etc and then we start over. He was a great boy today! Then I took him for a car ride and he loved it, as usual.

Am I causing a problem by loving him so much that every time I leave him in the car he barks and barks and then hopefully stops when I get in store? Is this… Continue

bolt and run

Ozzie ran for the umpteenth time this year. My hubbie thought I had him on the leash and I didn't. He came in using his wheelchair and Ozzie bolted. Thank God we have great neighbors. Even the ones we never met before. People drive slow by our house to see if Ozzie is in the driveway and yell "Ozzie".

I just saw on Its the Dog or Me that you have to teach him the space around the door is my space, face him and keep your hand out like a stop sign. Any other ideas??? I know he needs exercise… Continue
