Add a second doodle to our family?

Hi Everyone,I know a lot of you have two or more doodles. We currently have one, Lucy, a mini-goldendoodle who is 2-years-old. She's at the point now that we REALLY enjoy her. She's had training and…Continue

Whip worm experience and 2 questions!

Wow. This has been a hard couple of days. Lucy, now 16 months, has been diagnosed with whip worms. Ugh. After some hard nights (waking up 5-6 times per night, cleaning up vomit & diarrhea &…Continue

Do you feed your doodle once a day or twice a day?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Kaytlin and Cooper Jan 15, 2011. 26 Replies

I am curious what most of you do with regards to feeding once or twice a day.  We have typically fed Lucy, now 17 months, twice a day. She is not a big eater - like someone else here said in another…Continue

Sensitive to roughhousing? What to do?

Our sweet foster labradoodle, Meg, is bothered when my three sons wrestle, whether it's in fun or in anger. She barks and gets agitated and at times gets "nippy." (She doesn't bite - it's just that…Continue

Profile Information

About Me:
I am a stay-at-home-mom of 4 kiddos - they are 8, 10, 13, and 15 in Jan. 2012.
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Lucy is an F1B goldendoodle puppy. She was born in the fall of 2009.

Maybe we can add a rescue-doodle to our family in a couple of years once we know what we are doing more. :)
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
Potential for lower shedding, family friendly personality
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Go for walks, play fetch with the tennis ball in the backyard, drive carpool
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Laura at Laura's Doggy Do's
Favorite Doodle Products?
-Les Pooch green brush, Oster 10" steel comb

-My new favorite dog product (not just for doodles) is Interceptor flavor tabs - which I am now using in place of Heartguard - because it covers for heartworm AND hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. I never want Lucy to experience a parasite again, if I can possibly prevent it. She was really sick and I was really tired. And it was really expensive!

Roaming certain areas of the house?

Posted on November 9, 2010 at 9:32am 4 Comments

We're now giving Lucy (14 months) "free range" of the den/kitchen/entry hall dining room, after mostly confining her to the exercise pen in the past unless someone could watch her very carefully.

We close the doors to the hallway and bedroom so that she's mostly within our line of sight.

I did discover that as long as there are no tennis balls that can roll underneath the sofa, she doesn't chew on the sofa edging. So that's good news. Now all…

Gum in the Doodle's hair? Really?

Posted on August 16, 2010 at 2:30pm 3 Comments

Wow - so it's the week school is starting and life is hectic at our house.

While I was up at school with the younger two kids for "meet the teacher" open house, the older two kids let almost-1-year-old Lucy roam the house a bit without supervising her ("HE was the one who let her out of the exercise pen, Mom."). She apparently got into DD's trash can and we later discovered blue gum stuck in her fur. I proceeded to cut it out. She also apparently swallowed an unmentionable…

I do, Sara. The Cedarcide is a spray and works as a repellent and the DE works from the inside out. I sprinkle a bit on their food and sprinkle around their beds and can also be used outside. Thanks for the Friend Request.

Hi Sara! Yes I do the bw photos w a touch of color in photoshop. I do wedding photography too and that is really popular right now. The easiest way to do it is to make a duplicate layer turn it to bw and erase the color back into it. You should be able to do it that way in any photo editing program I think..
