Married with two wonderful teenagers, my son who is college and will be a Junior at WVU 2010-2011, and who I am proud to say just graduated from the Army Reserves in Ft. Leonardwood, MO and is continuing with his AIT training this summer. My daughter, on the verge of Sweet 16, will be a Junior this year in H.S. We are looking forward to another daughter, Veronica from Brazil, our third Exchange Student who will be staying with us during the school year 2010-2011. We live on my husband's family farm (Winner of the 2006 Conservation Farmer of the Year for WV Award) where we breed Registered Angus Cattle (formerly a Dairy), and now have fulfilled a dream we have had for 20 years, breeding our beloved canines. Having Shelties, I was looking for a non-shedding breed, aimed for Doodles...and fell in love with the Standard Poodle, too! We don't breed as much for profit (hard to do in the dog business) as we do for the love for what we do. We strive for quality, healthy and well socialized puppies that will bring years of love and kisses to their new families. Our breeding dogs are tested and screen for genetic diseases and we are approved breeders of Goldendoodles.com Our puppies are sold as pets only, with breeding rights only by special request and pending approval. All of our breeding dogs are spoiled rotten...we wouldn't have it any other way!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Goldendoodles, Labradoodles and Standard Poodles (who think they are Doodles at heart!). Too many to name here, but I DO know all their names!
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
For size, and because we love the Golden Retriever and the Labrador personalities, and have been totally smitten with the Standard Poodles, their temperament and their intelligence. No wonder the mix has created the PERFECT DOG! My only regret, to have let so many years pass without knowing how wonderful this breed the Standard "Poodle" is and missing that time without having one or more as part of my life! I was one of those, "a poodle....why?" How wrong I was.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Hug and Kiss, and get mud all over me while they greet me with their excited and unconditional love. They love to play fetch....my husband says they are just like kids. He has witnessed them calling one "it" and chasing each other around, then another one becomes "it"! He is often amazed....and very often amused. How can anyone enjoy life without having one of these wonderful creations of our God above as part of their life. Oh...don't worry...my kids still come first!
Does your doodle(s) shed?
A little bit but nothing major
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
Me
Favorite Doodle Products?
Toys! A pet store is like a candy store to me.....dangerous!
