About Me:: I live in Boise, Idaho with my husband and 2 boys. I work part time for a dog-friendly company and our chocolate doodle Hazel comes to work with me every day.

During Hazel's work day she sits at the door of my office and waits for people to come by and pet her. She's a great stress reducer and has many, many work friends (both human and furry).

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Hazel is an Austrailian Labradoodle. She is 19 months old and her parents are Cherish and Noble Phoenix (their first litter) from Spring Creek Labradoodles.

Hazel is smart and loving. She loves everyone but is completely and utterly devoted to me. I couldn't ask for a better companion. She has had a lot of training and will be getting her Canine Good Citizen certification soon.

Last summer Hazel went on about 7 rigorous backpacking trips in the the Sawtooth mountains. She carries her own backpack like a champ. She also loves to swim and will "rescue" a stick from the middle of a mountain lake anytime you ask.

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: We chose a doodle for the temperment, the size and intelligence and the non-shedding was a plus as well!

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Hazel goes everywhere with me. Work, picking up the kids at school, downtown...everywhere. I love her companionship. She's often invited into stores due to her good behavior. Her favorite was a very fancy art gallery in Jackson, Wyoming. There were more people looking at her than the art!

Hazel spends a lot of time hiking and running the the Boise foothills with us. My husband just finished the New York marathon and Hazel was his best training partner.

My name is Nancy Kronen, and my husband Andrew and I stumbled on this website yesterday 05/23/10 while visiting Springcreek Labradoodles' website. We were so excited to find your post!! Our Labradoodle Charlie is Hazel (and Cody's) brother. :)

We live in Seattle with Charlie. He is the third doodle born from Cherish & Noble's very small first litter three years ago, and we were really happy to find Charlie's siblings on this website!

Charlie is so sweet, loving, funny and gentle. He loves people, children, and dogs. He has such a great personality and temperament. If Hazel is anything like Charlie, you too are very fortunate!

I too live in Boise, and have a chocolate Labradoodle. I am looking for a good groomer and you mention you have one. Hobie's hair is the wooly coat, much like Hazels it looks like.

His hair a very long now (he looks like a puli) and we are waiting for it to warm up a bit before we cut it. It will be a big job, but I think we;ll do it ourselves. I haven't found a good labradoodle groomer here yet. Louie is 8 months now, and quite well behaved except for chasing out cat- we can't yet break him of that. He also gets pretty wild around our 2 year old grandson, as if he were around another dog. Any training advice on these 2 issues? We have him on a leash most of the time around the kids, so hopefully he will get the picture. We also leash him when the cat is around him, and do the leave it command. Still...

He also accompanies to work, sometimes to the offfice and sometimes to "the woods" as I am a forester. Similarly at the office he parks himself in the door way with his head in the hall to keep tabs on all who may want to come visit. An approaching person is evident from Cody's wagging tail hitting the door...

Hazel looks a lot like our Louie, also from Noble and Cherish. Louie is 4 1/2 mo. old and becoming a great part of our family, altho he is still pretty crazy around new people and our grandchildren! But he is a real character and learning fast.
