Spuds Family's Blog – May 2013 Archive (4)

"Baby Spuds" as my son calls him, is resting  by my feet as the 2 other dogs sit quietly in their window seat!!! We are all in the same room and everybody is CALM!!!  

Spuds has been having issues with separation anxiety.  He hates his crate, and will cry and bark and drool and foam at the mouth when I put him in it.  I tried to leave him loose in the laundry room or the bathroom, with tv left on for noise, toys water ect. with a closed door, but he scratches on the door, barks and…

I think the title sums up the situation.  Our family had 2 small Yorkies then my youngest son said he was ready for a dog of his own. We thought about another Yorkie, because allergies are such a huge issue.  However........

The opportunity to get a mini golden doodle puppy came at the same time.  I researched the breed, it looked like the perfect opportunity.   So, what I have now is a very active 12 pound puppy, who wants to play, nip, swipe, and pounce on two very small laid back…

Last week at Spuds first vet appointment, I learned he had an ear infection.  WHAT!!!! Basically, A week ago, I gave Spuds a bath, cleaned his ears with ear wash, and used the blow dryer to dry them, however, I should have bought the powder and removed the hair in the ears before I trapped all of that water in the ear from all of the hair. SIGH.

He is looking very fluffy, but I didn't want to groom him until he had been seen by the vet and had his next set of shots.

I haven't had much time in the past to blog until now.  Spuds is our new 14 half week old F2 Mini Golden Doodle.  Thanks to Doodle Kisses and the internet I am trying to train him early in his life.  Today, I have learned that he is the Alpha dog and I am a peon in his pack.  LOL.  Funny but true. He cries in his crate, I comfort him.  He will not eat on his own, I hand feed him.  Get the picture.  Well today is a new day.
