First, the good: Sophie's kidney function is within "normal", so she does not have kidney failure at this time. This makes it very likely that she will survive this disease. Rarely do they develope kidney failure if it wasn't present when treatment was initiated. I nearly cried when the vet called me at work to tell me the good news.. a bit emotional with everything, but it still felt good to know my girl is not too bad off at this point.

Lyme disease. Who knew!



Since January, I have been paranoid about her eating. Jan/Feb we had some difficulty getting her to eat ENOUGH.. or so I thought. I was really nervous she was loosing weight. Everyone told me it was all of the adjusting to a new home and new eyesight after eye surgery.
