Well, its been an exciting week.( And did I mention expensive? ) You may recall I adopted a dachsund recently from the pound with a partially amputated foot. Well, he decided to chew on one of his remaining toes and cause some more vascular damage to the tune of $550. (Someone once told me no good deed goes unpunished. It has been a big week here at the Pan de Vida household. Our Riley had 9 babies- 3 blue merle, 3 black and 3 gold. Riley didn't want to appear partial to any particular color of puppy so she had 3 of each. All of them are doing well and Riley has adjusted to motherhood quite nicely. The pups are plumping up nicely and for a first time momma, Riley is just like an old pro.

Today was a big day over here in my world. Our Riley Doodle had her very first litter- 9 pups total! Mom and babies are all settled in for the big sleep now. 5 females and 4 males.



I had also committed to taking a Dachsund from our local shelter. His kill date would've been today. They couldn't get him placed due to a partial amputation of his front foot.
