[Bonnie and Kona]

I have had a ridiculous time trying to load Owen's picture so that it was upright. I decided to try turning Owen's picture one quarter turn to the right on my desktop so that when I uploaded it, it would appear correctly. Wrong. This time He was laying sideways the other way! I righted the photo on my desktop, reloaded it and hooray! It is upright. Really weird. At least my puppy is on my page now. Someday Kona may let me take a picture of the two of them together. He really hates to have his picture taken even with my phone. Silly boy.

Kona is named after the black lava, like in Kona, Hawaii and the black Kona coffee. We lived in Hawaii for 3 years and go back when possible. Owen was named by my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter who couldn't remember my daughter's old cat's name, Bosco and kept referring to him as Owen. We just loved the humor in it. But we did have a dog named Earle so it must be our sense of humor.

Well, Kona has been used to a dog that was quite a bit older. Then all of you lost that dog. (I am so sorry....) To grieve that and then have a puppy's energy is quite an adjustment. I am so glad Kona is adjusting...soon it will seem perfect, I bet! Owen's little face just melts my heart !We also are getting a sibling for our Melody. (This will be a full sibling, but her brother was born when Melody was almost a year old, so they are not litter mates.) Melody is very shy, so I am hoping this is a good fit! Her brother, Morgan, is apparently quite a ham and is more outgoing. He is going through some basic training before coming to us. He will be 3 months old when we get him. (In a couple of weeks.) Because Morgan is small and young, I hope Melody will be playful with him. She is 14 months old.
Keep us updated on Kona and Owen...great names, by the way!

Thank you, Lauria. Kona is so very sweet, he will soon adjust to the puppy's crazy antics. He already plays with him much more than the first few days.

Kona and Owen are beautiful dogs. Aren't they just the best? I hope they bond more and more as time goes by. Grief for us and for our animals is just so hard....
