Potty training - Lucy has mastered ringing the bell on the door to go out and potty. Yahoo!!!! Now, I know how Pavlov's dog felt. We come running every time she rings. Who's training who here? She,of course, rings to go out and play. She seems to be a step ahead on everything...

New challenge - digging- I took my Mom to the family cemetery to clean it up before winter. I was carrying the branches away when I looked over my shoulder. My Mom is talking and did not realize that Lucy is diging a hole under the family tombstone. Whatever will the ancesters think!!! She has also selected our prize apple tree to dig at the roots. We are definitely not bored.

This week's losses - 2 coasters totaled and one fuzzy slipper wounded.

Circle dance - It's 6am, I am in my flannel nightgown, fuzzy slippers, no glasses, no jacket, 55 degrees , and Lucy is circling around finding the right pooper place. I mean, really, I could wash, dry, and fold a load of laundry before she makes a decision! I'd hate to go shopping for a dress with her.

Favorite sound - The Cheezit package. She runs for the couch every night because Jerry uses 2 cheezits to train her new tricks. She learned "down" this week. Last night, she ran for the sound, sat, shaked, and lied down before he asked her to so she could get her 2 Cheezits.

Spoiled- She is the center of attention everywhere she goes. Yesterday, the guy at my service station had a treat for her when I pulled in for gas. We are begining to keep an eye on her treats as her waistline is a little too round. Because we do use the treats as bribes, we are now breaking them into very small bites because she won't eat her dinners if we don't be careful.

Jerry says Lucy is easier to train than I am. I still leave my slippers in the middle of the floor and the bathroom window open when the furnace is on.

Oh, best of all!!!! Lucy sleeps all night in her crate!!!! Life Is Good...

Sharon, what a treat to find week two. I love how you write and relate to what you write. This week I lost my blue comb and my favorite doodle hat. Miss Etta James has thread in her teeth.

Love your commentary, especially the "circle dance." Emma (Lucy's sister) is soooo fresh, that I keep threatening her by saying, "the man in the big black car is coming to take you back to Maine!" Of course, I'm kidding and love, love, love her so much (how could you not love that face). Anyway, Emma has slept through the night from day two and is doing pretty well with potty training. The biggest thing (still) is her nipping, which we're trying so hard to work on - she really smells like a salad, what with all the vinegar she gets sprayed with! Started puppy kindergarten and she's the only one who can do a sit and a down! Keep the comments coming, I love it!

I love hearing about Lucy! You put into words the puppydom that we've gone through with our two ALD's from Patty. I drove to Portland yesterday down Rte 3 and thought of you when I saw a sign for China! I was wondering what week two has been like - and now I know!
