The best thing about this week is a sense of normalcy and routine. Lucy is beginning to know what is expected and when.
New tricks- Lucy is now tall enough on her hind legs to reach the trash in the kitchen. Stuff she digs out adds such a nice patina to my pumpkin pine floors. She does sit, shake ,down, and a stab at stay.
New passion - leaves blowing across the tar driveway. Unfortunately, if this happens during her circle dance, we have to start all over again.
New toy - garage sponges. She has now accumulated 3 and doesn't want to let anyone near them.
New adventure - we now tie her on the deck and walkway for a few minutes of alone outdoor time. She can only have her sponges outside so she is very happy ripping them to shreds outdoors.
Vet time - Lucy had her first vet check up and shots. She ,of course, was a star.
Biting - well under control, only a few episodes at the witching hour
The witching hour - sometime between 6pm and 7pm, Lucy winds up and races around the house pouncing at everything in reach. Our daughter called this the"witching hour" when her kids went through a fussy time in the evening. Lucy's doing better now, but there have been some wild evenings.
Observations- I think this new puppy adventure has been sucessful because both Jerry and I take equal parts in her care. We take turns with the everyday stuff and all the affection Lucy could possibly need. Yes, we do seem to spoil her, and,no, we won't ever stop that.
Favorite moments - Quiet times with Lucy snuggled up on the couch beside me. She is this sweet gentle soul, trusting and loving. She truly does enhance our lives much more than we expected.
