Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Traveler isn’t much interested in the ocean, unless a wave sneaks up behind him and gets his feet wet. Somehow I always expect him to be really excited about seeing a huge expanse of moving water, but he’s much more interested in whatever driftwood he can find and drag over to me, hoping for a good game of chase. Driftwood was sparse during one section of a walk, but he did find an orange. Why would there be a lone orange on an unpopulated beach? Darned if I know! If a dog could say ‘ick,’ that would have been his comment, but...there wasn’t any driftwood handy and a dog’s gotta do what a dog’s gotta do.
He never gets too far away from me, and this is a typical pose. Waiting. Alertly.
We found another doodle! I don’t know if Jacks and his dad are on DK, but he’s sure a cute little guy. He’s even groomed! But Trav doesn’t bark at his pals and is generally a most excellent playmate.
And it was sunny and relatively warm--at the beach in January!

Bonnie--what a cute picture of Owen! Now THAT'S what I thought Trav would do--look at the ocean. But he never does a real sprawl like that, either. Glad your fur-kids had fun.
What beautiful photos of a great day at the beach!
How nice to meet a doodle at the beach. It looks like these guys had fun together.
Oh, I do love these photographs especially the second last one with the light and shadows. Looks like the perfect day at the beach.
Great photos! He looks pretty proud of that orange! lol
Sunshine at the Oregon coast in January!!!! Woo Hoo!!! It looks like you guys had the PERFECT day (with the exception of those nasty biters you ran into!) The photos are GREAT, Trav is such a cutie! I love how he likes to keep an eye on you! :)
Thank you all for enjoying this day with us. Carol--Florida! Banjo will love that. Jane--I do think Trav thought the orange was a ball, a lucky find in the sand! Then he smelled it. Yuk. But he carried it around for quite a while. Such a brave dog. LOL
Yes, it was SUCH a fun day! Makes me smile to think about it. Traveler lives up to his name, and is a great travel companion, sleeps or looks out the window when in the car and always ready for adventure. Not all the dogs we met were friendly, and he was attacked by a Corgi and a lab. Not major attacks, but lunges and snarls. He just takes that kind of thing in stride, seems to shrug and carries on with his own doggie business.
