A sad track

A friend of mine called and said her kitten had gone missing. I offered to bring Lilo over to see if she could track down the cat - after all her training, here was finally a worthy and real life mission (her 2nd only - the first one involved tracking a missing person on our mountain, which led to nothing). We arrived at my friend's house and I put Lilo's tracking harness on. She sniffed some cat toys and went straight to work. Out the door, down the street, across a neighbor's yard, back and forth across the street, and finally into a ditch about 1/4 mile away. And there was the kitten. Dead, most likely hit by a car. It was so horrible, but I had to reward Lilo for finding it. She was very proud of herself and got all excited. Of course she didn't know that the outcome was not what we humans had hoped for. RIP Kitty.

way to go LILO,. mY DOODLE WAS PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK WITH MY COUSIN AND HE FOUND HER EVERY TIME EVEN UP A TREE. He often finds someone in the family when i say go find so and so. He has a very goodnose. Wish I had the know how to teach him even more or smell cancer cells like I here they do. His nose goes like bewitched when he is smelling something it has quite the range side to side.

Very sad for the Kitty and its owner, VERY impressed with Lilo - I know the outcome wasn't what the owner wanted, but Lilo was able to give her some closure. Many yummy treats for Lilo!
