A true diamond in the rough!
I know everyone wants to know how it is going with Marley and here it is: WONDERFULLY!!!! Marley is the sweetest-natured dog who fits in so well here, it's like he's been here forever. He's been busy these last few days!
Thursday was Marley's first vet visit since getting neutered at 7 weeks. Surprisingly, he's in pretty good health. Heartworm test negative! He's about 5-10 pounds underweight and has really yeasty ears, but no fleas or mites. Pretty sure the yeasty ears was from having matted hair blocking his ear canal. He's getting used to ear drops twice daily and ear washes 2-3 times a week...as long as lots of treats are involved! We are also deworming him for 3 days with panacure just to be sure. Distempter combo, bordatella, and rabies vaccines done. Booster and lepto vaccine in 3 wks. Overall, the vet really liked him and said he was a real find! Though Marley was fearful, he still gave kisses to the whole staff.
Friday was his first grooming appointment! I knew he was badly matted and the groomer said even his poor lips were matted ! He had matts on his ears, butt and everywhere else. They said his skin wasn't broken anywhere though, just red and irritated. So he's a naked boy now!
He and Lizzie are inseparable. When Marley gets put in his kennel, Lizzie cries. When one walks out the door, they both have to go. When one's asleep, they both are. I think Lizzie forgets we are here except at food time!

OMG Missi he is just gorgeous! I am just so thrilled it worked out between Lizzie and Marley. You are in for hours of pure joy watching them play.
The fact that he is healthy is such wonderful news. Hair will grow back.

Oh Marley looks so sweet. Poor baby...all that he has gone through in his short life of 1 year. He is so lucky to have found you and Lizzie. Lizzie is a gorgeous girl. I have a Standard Goldendoodle...and they are the best! Sounds like Lizzie loves her new brother. They make a nice family. Congratulations!

He looks so soft and cuddly with his short cut. I'll bet it will be handsome when it has grown back out. What a great find for you - and for him. Lizzie and Marley make a striking pair.
