I'm bummed. I have to go a whole week without my puppies. I haven't been away from them for more than a day since I got them. I am not a happy camper! We are sneaking off to Vegas on 10/17 to get hitched and we can't take them with us as we are flying. I have checked out several kennels.....yuck. I hate boarding! (Although we will be taking them to Florida at Christmas....can't wait!!!! Christmas day is my Sheba's 1st birthday!) Does anyone know of an home pet sitter around Lima, OH? I know it's short notice but we put the wedding on hold for a little while....doctors orders. Now my doctor says its OK to go. So my original plans for my puppies fell through and I am left with boarding. Any ideas anyone?

Do a search for in-home pet care for Lima, OH. Heaven knows, no one is employed in OH these days. There are many people who may come to your home, walk your dogs, and check on your house. Here are a few I found in your area:

CONGRATULATIONS! I am a newlywed too! Well, kinda. Two years. We also flew away to get married. It was so nice. You will love the low stress and lots of fun type of wedding.
Is Elvis going to be there???
There was a group with ideas here somewhere on DK. I'll go look for the group that I saw when I first signed on in January.

Do you have a Doggie Daycare that also has boarding? That was the answer for us. We take him there once a week for a half day to play with his Puppy "Pals", and he loves it. It also keeps him dog socialized. If we have to be away overnight, he stays there. He doesn't mind because he's played hard all day. Also, they don't use the traditional crates. They have "suites" that give the dogs plenty of room to walk around. You can bring their own crate which goes into the "suite" or you can just bring their bed. It has worked out great whenever we've had to leave Guinness overnight. He doesn't seem to mind at all because he knows the place and associates it with fun. Maybe you have something similar in your area. Congratulations, and best of luck!
