Since Fozzy came with me, he has been going to the office with me. I finally started leaving Fozzy Bear at home for the first time yesterday, the first time in three months. It was a short day for me since I needed to have my water heater replaced. So, his first day he was home alone for 6 hours. Today, it will be for 8 hours.......gosh, I feel so bad. He is with me so much, I have never had need to crate him, so I have him confined to my master bathroom. Tomorrow, my 14 yr old GR will be home with him, so tomorrow, I may let them stay in the bathroom and bedroom, that is if he doesn't have any accidents today. Needless to say my GR usually has run of the house. I hope this works ok, because when we leave for an hour or two Fozzy Bear does great, we return and the house is completely intact.

But it is so sad. Every time I move my chair back from my desk, I look on the floor to make sure I am not rolling over my little angel. Yesterday and today were really long days. I hope tomorrow goes a little faster.

Well, Fozzy Bear did pretty good in the bathroom yesterday - no accidents! No chewed trim or cabinets. But the metal blinds were pretty torn up. They were bent and there were holes in them. Oh, well. I wanted new ones anyway.

He was so excited when we got home he was jumping for kisses like crazy. So much for the "off" command.....

I feel your pain Chris. I had to do this with Lucy a few weeks ago. She is usually with my DH while I work and only left for a few hrs. if he/we go somewhere. He went to camp for a week and I had to leave Lucy alone while I was at work for 8 hrs. I felt so guilty. All I could think about the whole day was her being lonely. One day I had to work overtime and she was in the house alone for almost 12 hrs. I flew home when I got off and she ran out the door and peed as soon as I unlocked it. She was such a good girl. If I have to do this again, I will find a family member or neighbor to come during the day and let her out to run for awhile. Good Luck

I am so lucky-I have a "home office" and it has a nice comfy loveseat under the window which faces our street. I have a blanket on it and Thomas-our GD lies there while I make my calls and work on the computer. I have to go out often during the day and I just tell him to go "uppies on the couch" and he lies there sleeping until he can see us thru the window coming back home. So far so good-no damage to our house and I have been doing this since he was 4 months old.(now 7 months) Tomorrow, the bedroom& bathroom for your guys, then maybe in a few weeks you will feel comfortable with them both hanging out wherever they want. You MUST miss your Fozzy Bear though, and by the way that is the best name ever!! Isn't that from a storybook?? or is it one of the muppets? I can't place it right now-muppets-right? My brain is just not functioning in this rain we are having in Toronto.

That must be so hard. I find myself running home to be with her and I only leave for an hour or two daily. You are lucky to fell confident enough to leave Fozzy in that much space. I could NEVER do that with Phoebe yet. She is still the accident Queen. Yesterday was our first accident free day ever. I will be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping for the best--let us know how it goes.

I know that feeling you get when you roll the chair back but stop first to make sure you aren't going to roll over a doodle body part and realize they aren't there. Samantha rarely stays home (I own my business with my DH) but when she isn't there it does feel strange. I hope today went fast and all is well and intact at home.
