My friends brother went missing Thursday in Chandler, AZ. This is totally out of character for him. Please be on the lookout for him and his truck!!! Thank you!

On our yearly trek to Gilbert AZ we leave behind our beloved Fozzy Bear. We found a wonderful family to watch him while we are gone. I interviewed several dogsitters and fell jn love with this family once I saw the way Fozzy and and they reacted to one another. They send me daily pix and updates on him. He is having so much fun with them and their dog he may not want to come home.
Because I know he is in such good hands I havent…

I was at training with Fozzy last night. There is a couple that has pissed me off since day one. They have this adorable border collie that is an absolute head case. She goes after other dogs, nips at the owners barks like crazy. From the first class it was clear that the owners are abusive with this dog. I have seen both owners swat this dog, scream at this dog and just treat this dog badly. The trainer is visibly struggling with this couple, biting her tongue and show them the proper way to…

We had a fantastic weekend! After a couple of sniffs - it was GAME ON! They began to play immediately. They didn't stop for about 45 minutes. It was like a war of wills between the two of them. Neither one of them wanted to be the first to give up, typical sibling rivalry. lol They were completely exhausted - I don't think I have ever seen Fozzy so pooped!
We just love Murphy to bits! He is a gentle giant! A lot more mellow than…

I'm pretty excited about tomorrow, but a little nervous! We will be babysitting Fozzy Bear's brother Murphy this weekend! Did I mention he out-weighs Fozzy by 36 pounds??? No kidding - when Fozzy weight 47 pounds he weighed 74 - I believe he is now at 86 lbs!
Fozzy has really been lonely since Boomer has been gone, I think this will be very good for him. It should be interesting anyway. Murphy has not had any training yet, so going for walks should be pretty comical to the rest of…

Today, as I was preparing dinner, and assuming the tears for the day were done, I opened the mail. Inside a large envelope was another smaller envelope and a piece of white paper. On the lower left hand corner of the most wonderful black paw print ! I just started bawling. I opened the small envelope there was a sympathy card from my vet with a beautiful note. I was also informed that my vet had taken a paw impression when they put the catheter in his leg on Saturday, and it was ready to be…

Hi All ~
I just wanted to thank all of you for your kind words, reassurance and prayers. I haven't been able to respond in a timely manner because I can only get through typing one sentence at a time before the tears cloud my vision. I knew it would be hard, but not this hard. What makes it even worse is seeing my 11 year old son struggle with it. Hopefully once we pick up Boomers ashes, it will give him some comfort.
We took the prayer that Adrianne sent us when we went…

These are pictures of my boy Boomer taken this morning. With a heavy heart I look at these pictures and wonder if I did the right thing. Earlier this afternoon, we said good bye to Boomer. He was so happy today. This is the very first time I took him to the vet that he wasn't shaking in fear.......first time in 14 years.
The room at the vet's office was beautiful. It was a cozy little living…

Sorry everyone. Every time I think about updating Fozzy's grape incident, I am not at the computer. We got all good news. His kindey function came back all normal. Yeah! But, now we are all terrified to eat grapes since we know he likes them so much!

Today I was speaking with an associate. He was complaining how he has been so busy trying to find a doodle for his kids. I told him I hoped that he would consider getting a rescue, as I know there is one available in Fargo (which is a 3 hour drive, and within his territory). Well, me and my big mouth! That just opened the floodgates to his little brain. It went something like this:
Are you kidding? I'm not paying $300 for a "rescue" dog! blah, blah, blah! Then I tried to explain that…

Well, never a dull moment at our house. Last week we were on vacation with a friend of mine from Michigan and we had a great time. I was actually more relaxed than I had been in months. Yesterday I was getting a bunch of paperwork together for the boys returning to school that I needed to work on. I left the room, started organizing the papers in order of importance and noticed that the bowl of grapes that the boys were eating during lunch were gone. Wow, I couldn't believe they finished the…

A week ago, I took the Fozzmonster to the park to get some exercise. I take him to a local park with a hockey rink. They do not take the boards down over the summer, so it has been a perfect place for him to blow off some steam! Well, this cute little dog came by with its' owner, and Fozzy started running along the fence line after her. When he ran out of room, he simply did the logical thing, jumped the 4'+ fence. I guess this shouldn't surprise me due to the fact that at 8 weeks, he was…

It seems that Boomer is getting more frail everyday, but he is still smiling when we luv him up! A while ago, I asked my vet if she could come to our home when it was time. She said she would. She said she has a friend who put down her dog and home, and now regrets it because every time she goes into that room, all she can think about is losing him there. I am wondering what other people's experiences have been?

Fozzy ate a pc of chocolate cake, no chocolate frosing, but it had 2 small oreo cookies (are they really chocolate?) Do I need to worry? I don't think there was real "chocolate, or how much cocoa was in it. It had like a cool whip icing with oreo crumbs. Or can I continue being mad at him?? For my birthday, after I made my bed this a.m. he peed on it, then when I came home and then left again for dinner, he got into a bag of treats, and ate a hole in the bag, eating it entirely. Then he got…

I am considering trying to groom Fozzy myself.....not everything at first, but the little stuff, like the beard, the sanitary areas, etc. Would I have to buy a table??? If so, how much are they? I have a hard time getting Fozzy to sit still long enough to trim his eyebrows. And how much would a good clipper and scissors run me?

A few weeks ago, I posted a forum about Fozzy biting/grabbing the boys' arms and jumping on them, wanting to play. He was leaving scratches and bruises. I was looking for advice how to deal with Fozzy's behavior, also asking if anyone thought it would be worthwhile to look into an e-collar. Well, it got pretty heated.......I was even told I was committing child abuse by not keeping the dog away from the boys that he sleeps with every night. Well, needless to say, I was VERY upset with that…

Two years ago, my ex-husband told me I should have my 14 year old GR, Boomer, put down, and as usual, he was wrong! ;-) Boomer has been suffering with arthritis for about 3-4 years. It is quite bad he is taking rimadyl 2x per day. He will only go outside to go potty when absolutely necessary. Sometimes he eats, sometimes he has to be coaxed. If I need to move him, like for instance, when he is in front of the door, blocking my exit and refusing to move, and I try to move him, he will growl,…

Well it looks like darling little Noah started a trend. And I don't know why, but it seems our little Goldendoodles have something against Stuart Weitzman......Yep, he did it.
Now you have to understand, I cannot and would not afford to buy a pair for myself. But my sister does. And if she finds a shoe that she loves enough, she will buy it even if it is not comfortable. This has been a real benefit to…

Well, since Fozzy it was time for Fozzy Bear to get neutered, I decided it was also time for him to cut his first haircut. I had to drop him off before work before the groomers' was technically open. So since I was going to be late for work, I made a few instructions on a piece of paper for the groomer. I was so nervous about how he would act since he is afraid of strangers. I hoped he would be ok, because I took him there 3-4 times to meet the…

Well, we brought Boomer home last night, he is our 14 yr old GR. Um, not so good. Fozzy immediately started mounting him and growling at him. Every time Boomer would lay down, which with his health is constantly, Fozzy would stand over Boomers head, with him privates right over Boomer's face. Ugh, this kinda pissed me off. My poor dear GD doesn't deserve this type of behavior. He is old, weak and could possibly have cancer. I am taking it kinda personally, I know. So, Fozzy and Boomer were at…
