Almost 16 weeks!!!

So Twinkie is almost 16 weeks old! (On Wednesday to be exact). She has been such a ball of fun in our household! Saturday we finished up all of her immunizations, and found out she has lost three teeth! I rewarded her for being such a good puppy while at the vet w/ a Kong toy, another rubber toy, some new treats, and a new collar! The one she came w/ was just about choking her! She now weighs 27 lbs. It was really funny because when you look at Twinkie you think 35 lbs. easy, but she is just a ball of fur! There was a Boxer there at the same time and she was born two days after Twinkie on 4/17/2009. She looked so little and she weighed 26 lbs!!! Very funny to see a short hair and a puff like Twinkie and find out they are almost the same size! (Twinkie had her on height though...)

I wanted to also thank everyone for the advice on nipping. I spoke to my vet about this Saturday also, and she had stated to close her mouth firmly catching her tongue on her teeth every time so she associates pain w/ nipping. She even suggested pinning her while doing this so she knows who's boss. So I tried the closing of the mouth w/ the tongue in her teeth...and I have to say I feel kind of bad while I'm doing it but it has produced tremendous results! The best so far. So I am sticking to it! The habit is still there, but this does make her realize it hurts and she licks me as soon as I let go almost to say sorry.

All and all it has been great getting to know Twinkie, and giving her a family and a home. We love her dearly! I have to say I got her to roll over for a treat yesterday! Woo hoo! First time so far. I am trying again tonight so she will create a habit of it! Look out for a video when we get it down. Toodles doodle friends!!!

Nice to hear that Penny's sister is doing so well too...glad you're getting the nipping under control, with 4 kids in the house I can imagine there's a lot of high-energy atmosphere going on, which will only make Twinkie a little hyper!
