First of all...thank you to all the sweet, kind, well wishes for Ali this past Friday!!!
I picked Ali up at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon.
The vet- a new vet I JUST started going to- was amazing!! He is sooo friendly, he brought Ali out to me and seriously stood and talked to me for half an hour, just going over different things...he is def. a sweet vet that loves his job.
I thought it was funny, they actually saved Ali's teeth for me :-) I didn't want them, but I did look at them...they were sooooo tiny!!!!
He had four teeth pulled. The vet explained everything, told me all of Ali's bloodwork looked great and other than his bad teeth and his blind left eye....he's the picture of health! yay!!

When I picked Ali up...he was beyond loopy! The vet tech came out craddling Ali in her arms like a baby, she passed him on to me and he didn't even move. His tongue was dry and sticking out of the side of his mouth...and he had what looked like the hiccups. The vet assured me that it was just a dry cough from having the tube down his mouth and that he would be fine.
I won't lie though, I was worried on the drive home, Ali stayed in my arms, like a baby for the entire ride home...never once moving and harldy opening his eyes. When we got home I went straight to the couch and laid down with him on my chest. We layed like that for awhile. He finally started to move around and DH got him some water, he drank and drank...we had to make him stop b/c I was afraid he would get sick. He could barely walk. He looked like a little drunk man, it was kind of comical. I fed him a few handfuls of wet dog food and then he went back to sleep.
On Saturday the vet called to check on him, he had had one loose stool since I picked him up, which the vet said was to be expected.
Saturday night I had to give him his first dose of medicine. He took it like a champ- lol, he really had no choice.
He has been eating fine ever since. His tongue has always stuck out, it mayyyy stick out just a tiny bit farther, but it doesn't look any stranger than it did before, lol.
He's so precious and I'm so thankful for such a wonderful, caring vet. I have def. found my forever vet!!!

Molly was pretty sweet with Ali on Friday, however by Saturday, she had had enough of us babying him...and was ready for her own attention. LoL. She was also ticked that he got wet food and she didn't :-)

I ended up getting the chew pill for fleas, for both Molly and Ali. I gave them both their pills on Sunday, we'll see how well they do!

Again, thank you for the sweet well wishes for Ali!!!!!!!! I really appreciate this site :-) and all of the thoughtful people on it!

I'm glad the ordeal is over and Ali is fine.

JD had to go under for a teeth cleaning a couple of months back, and the only that kept me somewhat calm about it was the trust I have in my vet. That's worth everything!
