Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Is it just me, or when someone talks about “cuddling-up” with their pup, do you envision something small and compact like “Toto” from the movie classic “Wizard of Oz?”…
Or does your mind conjure up something like this?…
I would bet “Toto” images appear more often!
At 7 months old, Leo was the same size as our two year old Doodle…
So cuddling with him came as easy to us as it was with Harley. Then almost overnight I looked at Leo again and OMD, our “Gentle Giant” had arrived. My boys were no longer the same size…
BTW, can you tell whether or not I gave a “sit” or “stay” command with that picture?
Whenever people ask about their age, Leo’s size triggers the same responses:
Generally after that, Harley becomes the crowd pleaser. Now don’t get me wrong, Harley works harder for it. When people approach us, Harley gets to wagging his tail so hard, his entire backside starts to dance! Leo just stands around like the stage manager almost as if he “wills” Harley to perform for treats and praise!
The older Leo gets, the more of a “cuddle-bug” he becomes. Poor thing still try’s to sit wherever you sit, underestimating his size most of the time. He likes to get “up in your face” also, and will command attention from you too!…
Non the less, our “big guy” is truly unique with his comical personality and affectionate manner…
Always – always – always giving tons of love. He seems to constantly remind us not to be thrown off track by his size, and to always remember: “Big guys need love too”…
Thanks for reading…

Chester is our big Gentle Giant.. At 80 Lbs he still likes to sit on my lap on occasion.
I love your pictures..Very cute.
We always get - 'How old is he??' What a big Doodle.
Love big doodles! Love em small too but my heart belongs to my big 70lb girl as well.
Leo and Harley are perfect.
I love big doodles! Your doodles are beautiful! I always considered a small dog, but was afraid that wouldn't work with two rambunctious little ones. We decided on a standard doodle and we made the best choice for us. Apollo is not quite as big as yours, but he's 8 months old and 55 lbs...he loves to give kisses and snuggle!
Leo is adorable. I love his size. My Gracie Doodle is a big girl too. More to hug!
I like the pic of the paw in the face! Peri does that to us all the time. I was doing yoga at home yesterday, she came and sat next to me and put her paw on my head. She likes to swat us and we think that means "I want pets"!
Oh my, what a big, beautiful boy!
Cute pics! I agree -- our big guys need loving too! Believe me, the one I live with gets plenty!!
That last picture reminds me so much of Sadie--it's the "how can you resist this face" face! Love the pictures and the blog!
