Birthdays are the BEST!!!! I am 1 year old!!!

Hi Doods!

It's Shelby here! I know it has been a long time since I blogged... there is so much to catch you up on! I have to start with the most recent event.... my Birthday - I turned 1! Yesterday was my birthday.... mom kept saying "it's almost your birthday" but I didn't really know what meant. Then yesterday - we woke up and Mom said "Happy Birthday Shelby" and gave me lots of loving!!! We went to the dog park in the morning for a couple of hours... I got to play with my friend Tucker - we had a great time! I did get something stuck in my paw pad, but mom managed to find it and get it out (even though my paw was muddy). I was really happy she got it out, but my paw still hurt a bit so I sat close to mom for a bit and then wandered around. Next we all (mom, me, Tucker and Maggie (Tucker's mom)) all went to America's Country Store.... to look at toys and treats. I got to pick out my own treats.... I smelled them all and finally picked a couple of pig ears and a jumbo beef flossie! My mom grabbed a couple of other things too. Tucker also got to pick treats - his birthday was just a couple of days before mine - he is 3!

Mom and I went home and then napped during the afternoon - we were both pretty tired because we hadn't been sleeping well. Mom has a job that requires she be on call for the university and she was on call this week. We have been woken up in the middle of the night just about every night! So we napped.... it was awesome.

Later mom gave me my big flossie - it was yummy.... I ate almost all of it, but then I wanted to save a bit for later. A while later... my mom put the two things on the floor in paper and said Happy Birthday... time to open your presents. I didn't know what she was talking about - but she seemed excited. She had her camera out and kept telling me to open my presents. Then suddenly I smelled something yummy inside the paper and I started to paw at the paper. Then the crinkly noise of the paper, the sound of me tearing it up... it all was too much and I tore them open! Much to my suprise... there were new toys inside :o) Here is a link to some photos!

After opening presents Tucker and I got to go for a walk together and then I got to go to Tucker's house to play and we had lots of fun! I don't know about you doods... but I love birthdays... it was so much fun!!! I'll try to do another blog in the next few days.... Gotta go run errands with mom!
