Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
My little Brady Bum has just completed his 8th month and the Doodle 'love' just keeps building!!! This little boy is the love of my life (of course along with my husband and 3 daughters)!! Of course!!!
Brady has in his short life been included in a few note-worthy events. At 12 weeks he was actually invited to a country wedding - he was not present for the 'service' part, but arrived just before the dinner and was so well behaved - just sat contentedly on his little bed by my feet! He went on his first and only DOODLE ROMP and was so overwhelmed by all the dogs, once again, just sat quietly at my feet - it may have also been that he had been neutered just 6 days before the event. We are looking forward to attending another in the Spring. At 7 mos., he went to his Doodle friend CharlieBear's 1st Birthday party where there were 3 pups total. Brady was the smallest but fared pretty well and had a good time.
He travelled with me at Christmas on a 5 hour trip to Toronto. We stopped once along the way and he lay on his blanket in the back seat the entire time - happy and quiet! Ditto for our return home except I set him in the front seat with me and chatted with him!! During our trip away after the first night he woke me - while lying on the bed his back legs kept spasmodically jutting our kicking me and it would seem to startle him. He became listless, getting up, turning and plunking right back down. After a sleepless night, he seemed fine on his morning walk, but then started up again, and was disinterested in going for a walk (my sign something was certainly very wrong). Took him to an Emerg. Vet (of course!!! :( ) and they admitted him - saying he was dehydrated and might have eaten something causing pain in abdomen so X-rays, Blood Tests, etc. Poor little guy!! It turned out that he was simply dehydrated and the leg kicking was probably muscle cramping. He recovered quickly and we drove home the following day! This scared me to death - thankfully it was something they could cure!!! I am considering another go at puppy training in the Spring.
Brady is now 22 lbs. and I'm hoping he doesn't get too much bigger! I am currently looking for a place for him to go while we take a vacation in Feb. I hate the thought of leaving him somewhere but the owners of the 'pet friendly' Fla. condo we've rented has just sold it and they are few and far between. I've already booked one for 2013 but were too late for this year. I just hope this doesn't change his wonderful personality.

Sounds like you have had a great 8 months! Too bad we don't live closer. It would be fun to have a little dood around for vacation!
What a great first year - well, except for the dehydration part! Happy Birthday!!
Happy Birthday, Brady! You sound like a wonderful dog!!
Awe, Brady Goose you are one sweet puppy. I would offer to take hime but my place can't contain another doggie, even one as SMALL as 22lbs ;-) Try Country Living Dog Resort. It's a cage free boarding place. The couple who own it are very nice.
