Hi guys! It's me Whopper. Thanks for all the well-wishes. I'm hanging in there but definitely in pain and don't really have much energy. I don't know what got into me Friday night...I've never eaten (or should I say swallowed) anything I wasn't supposed to but I think that thing called a brillo pad must have somehow confused me. I woke up not feeling well and my mom and dad knew that something wasn't right. I didn't want to drink or eat anything. I just wanted whatever was stuck inside of me to get out already. It didn't so off to the vet we went. My mom rode in the back seat with me for a change which was nice.

I normally am pretty calm but the vets office just got me so worked up. My mom and dad kept telling me to be quiet and to sit or lay down in the waiting room but I could only listen for a few seconds. Those other dogs there were making me crazy so I just kept barking. They took me back into this room where two nice ladies checked me out. They stuck that thing up my butt which I didn't like so much and then said they were going to take some tummy pictures. My mom and dad left me and I got really scared. I got to see them again 20 minutes later which seemed like forever and when the lady in the white coat was talking to them, my mom was petting me and asking me what did I do. I was so confused and both my parents seemed concerned so I knew things weren't good. My mom and dad gave me lots of hugs and kisses and then they were gone.

The next few days are a bit of a blur. I was definitely in pain but they had this thing in my right front leg and kept telling me it was going to make me feel better. I have never spent a night away from both my mom and my dad so that first night was killer. When everyone left I was sleeping but in the middle of the night I woke up scared and alone so I pulled that thing in my leg right out. I'll show them! I later learned that my rebellion cost mom and dad an extra $72 but they have this thing called insurance so it should be okay. The next morning people came back and they gave me lots of love. It's all kind of blurry until the next day in the late afternoon when mom and dad came back to get me. The people at the vet had taken me out of my crate to get me ready for home and I put up a real stink and refused to go back in. I showed them again! Instead they brought me to a room and in came my mom and dad to wait with me for the lady in the white coat to come and talk to them again. I was so happy to see them but I just wanted to get out of there. Mom kept telling me not to worry that they were taking me home!

Ahhhh...It is so nice to be home and my mom and dad have made sure that one of them is always with me. They've also fed me chicken and rice and for some reason I now get 4 meals a day instead of two. I have to take lots of medicine which I'm not very good at but at least I get some peanutbutter to help it all go down. I can't go for any walks or say hi to any friends until these things called stitches come out in 10-14 days. Right now I'm too tired and it hurts too much anyway but I hope I'm not going stir crazy in a few days. Oh yea...I made my parents feel really bad for me at the vet because they had this huge cone on my head. When I got home my mom took it right off. She put me in a t-shirt at bed time but after a few hours in the bed I decided to move to the living room. My mom woke up and came in there too. Can you believe it! She slept on the couch to make sure I was okay and so that I wouldn't have to put back on that stupid cone and try and sleep. This morning my mom still loved me even though I kept her up and said it was okay because she now enjoys these shakes that give her lots of energy and help her to feel great! I wonder when I'll get to lick the batter from that again and if it will speed up my recovery! Anyway, I know my story so far is a long one but I wanted to let you guys know that I'm doing okay and I'm keeping my paws crossed that I've learned my lesson and don't make the same mistake again.

Hi Whopper!!!
We are so happy you are home and feeling a bit better!! We were so worried about you but we didn't want to bother Mom by calling. We knew she would tell us the story as soon as she could.
Maybe when you get the stichey things off your belly and the lady in the white coat says it is okay, you can bat those gorgeous eyelashes at Mom and ask her to drive you to the beach to play with us. All your Doodle friends that really want to see you and give a sniff to make sure they did a good job putting you back together!
Love,
Samantha & Charli

Whopper,
We are sorry you got a tummy ache. It isn't good to eat stuff that isn't called food. We are good except we like to chew on milk cartons, and paper trash.

So glad you are home Whopper and on the mend! Thanks for the reminder of how awful those brillos are for us doods.

Hey Whopper....I just want you to know that I'm really sorry that you've been so sick. My Mom told me the Brillo Pad story, and I have to say it has "scared me straight". Now we just have to convince my little brother that eating stuff like this is a mistake....a HUGE mistake! You must have a great Mom to cook you the chicken and rice (my favorite) and to NOT make you wear that awful cone. Murphy and I are so glad you're okay now...keep getting better, buddy! Guinness

Whopper - I'm glad you are home. I know how you feel (rock instead of brillo pad). You are lucky you get chicken and rice - my vet prescribed some awful canned Rx food first mixed with some kind of stuff that sort of looked like milk then it was mixed with water and finally with my normal kibble. My mom slept on the floor with me for a week before I could go upstairs where we usually sleep. Hang in there, each day gets better and when the "stitches" are out (it didn't hurt) everything should be back to normal. Hugs and doodle kisses, Haley

Hey, Whopper! Mommy says to thank you for the heads-up. She's just given me the "No Brillo Pads!" lecture. So happy that you're feeling better!
