But Lola....it's too hot for doodles!!!!

So we're in earth-shattering heat here in southern Ontario. We're past heat and humidex advisories, and into full-blown weather warnings! As I write this, with the humidity and all, it's about 47C (about 116F). So I've been avoiding taking Lola out, especially since she gets so dramatic with extreme weather conditions. She's been wandering around our (air-conditioned) house all afternoon staring at me and whining. I keep saying "Lola, trust me, it's too hot for doodles. You'll melt!"

So off we went, bottle of doodle water in hand....and she plops right down at the first shady tree....and the second....and the third....and so on. Then she has a VERY loose poop. And then she threw up from drinking too much of the bottled water.

 

I told you, Lola, it's too hot for doodles!!!!

We live in Muskoka and even here it is ridiculously hot and humid.  Our house is over 100yrs old and definitely does not have air conditioning!!  We let teh boys out for a run around and my husband filled a kiddie pool with water for them - they both just lay in it!!  At least we can go and find a lake to swim in though!

 

Love Lolas haircut, that is exactly how I do my Chase.  Where did she come from??

awww, thanks Chelsea. I'd give your friend in Toronto a call to make sure she survived this heat. I don't know what I would have done without air conditioning today!!!

I ended up taking Lola out a second time ( we do normally have 3 outings in hot weather like you, Laurie!) and took her out to the local school to run around. She went nuts for a good 25min, and hasn't moved from the couch since. I love it when she's this tired....SO cute!

Ouch, that is very hot! I have a friend up in Toronto and they do not have AC in a high rise apartment. At least she knows your not keeping her inside to be mean now! She is one cute dood! I think you just inspired me to cut Bailey shorter, haha!

They are such delicate little flowers aren't they? 3 walks is very brave Laurie. My two got to go out back 3 times and I stood in the airconditioning watching them. I did take Murph out to the pool once and got in up to my knees. But that's been our big adventure in the heat today. Waiting for sundown to cool it down to under 100.

It is 100 degrees here and I took them for 3 short walks today. I don't know who was hotter...Laurie, Fudge, or Vern...but the good thing is, it sure does tire them out :) Cute picture!
