Cancer, Surgery, Floods, 2 Doods, 2 DSs and 2 Girlfriends

It's been an interesting week, to say the least. Murphy's biopsy came back positive for melanoma, confirmed by the vet school, and he will have radiation in the near future. He had surgery to remove what I hope is a hemangioma on his ankle Wednesday. We are waiting on those results.I am having trouble with him chewing the sutures out. Any suggestions appreciated.

The DSs and girlfriends flew in on Friday. By Saturday morning, we were flooded in with the water rising. (Quite a shock for girls from west Texas and Arkansas)  Fortunately they were dog people. Finn thought these were the best days of his WHOLE life!  Surprisingly, he charmed everyone.and was pretty adorable, I have to admit. He fell in the water and scared himself...but he did swim. Murphy thought that meant it was okay to swim so he jumped in....but not to rescue Finn. We all survived the weekend and the girlfriends were wonderful.

Today, I took Finn to Petsmart for the first time (need to work on that socialization). A lady came up to me and asked if he was a Goldendoodle. She said Finn looked just like her 6 month old Goldendoodle. (YAY!!)

Murphy - you big goofball - now see what you did to yourself?  The cone is yours for the duration buddy because you are too smart for your own good.  I hope your treatment goes well.  Your pal, Clifford.

Wow, just seeing the photo below.  That is some incision.  Hope his new cone helps.  Glad for the good news on the results.  Hope the radiation goes uneventful and successful!  Thinking of you all.

Let Murphy pout, that wound needs to heal. But this is all good news about the hemangioma and probably noninvasive melanoma.

Linda, Yippee for some good news!!! So glad the leg tumor was benign. I hope Murphy stops pouting and leaves that leg alone.

Thanks everyone for all the prayers and positive thoughts.  The tumor on his leg came back today as a hemangioma (BENIGN!!)    I will talk to the vet school to schedule the local radiation for the melanoma. All info points to it being non invasive at this  point.

I took him back to the vet for the wound and they had to clean it up and staple it this time. I bought the inflatable collar, but he just stuck that long leg up by his face and got to it anyway. He is now in this humongous cone collar and pouting.
