Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
It's official! We poured over an abundance of wonderful applications and finally narrowed it down to one perfect, forever family for Carter.
The best part of it is that the family is local, so Doris & I got to surprise them on Friday night with the news and most importantly, Carter!
We slapped a blue bow on the little guy, gathered some Carter look-alike cupcakes, and showed up on Ken & Beth's doorstep. They couldn't have been more excited to find out the news, and Carter made himself at home right away. Before we left, he had already discovered the fabulous back yard, a toy basket full of all kinds of toys, and his favorite part, the cabinet where they keep their dog treats!
Even though Carter will be an "only child" at home, Ken & Beth's granddog, Lexie, will be around to play with a lot. Ken & Beth's daughter, Robin, lives nearby, and she brings her dog Lexie to hang out at the house several times a week. Carter got to meet her on Friday night, too, and they got along great.
It was tough to say goodbye to the little snicker-doodle, Doris & I are both super happy that we found the perfect match for him!

I still cannot get over how cute this guy is! I could just bite his face!
Happy Tails to you, little Snickerdoodle! May you live happily ever after with your new family! I know you took a couple of little pieces of your foster moms hearts with you!
Libby, Doris, thank you for all you did for carter, and hugs to you both. :)
BTW, those really are the cutest cupcakes : )
What a wonderful ending to Carter's story. Kudos to Doris and you for making this happen.
I know you miss Carter, Doris. You were a wonderful foster mother. Lucky, lucky Carter. Nice job, Doris and Libby.
I forgot to say how stinkin cute he looks in his blue bow and those cupcakes look divine. I have complete faith that you guys found him a great home and I for one appreciate that you were there to help little Carter when he needed someone, so a big thank you to Doris and Libby, you guys rock.
@Donna, Carter was hard to let go, let me tell you, but finding a family like Beth and Ken gives me warm fuzzy feelings. Carter hit the jackpot and he's bad days are HISTORY!!!
For the record, Libby made those darling cupcakes! They were so YUMMMY!
Thanks, Libby, for being my rescue-partner! You're the best!!!
I am really happy that little Carter has found a wonderful forever home, I am really sad that it's not mine. How can you fall in love with a little sweetie you've never met. Have a great life Carter, may you always be surrounded by patience and love.
