Catching Moments

There have been many times in my life which there was no camera, no way to record the Moment that took my breathe away...

I've learned over time to catch the moments best I could with my senses.

With Kids there is no going back & I hope that story telling helps those moments live forever.

 

Moments Like....

Day before yesterday we had a rather Blustery COLD day for Tx & Brinkley actually pouted to be made to come in, but there was this one moment I had to catch in my minds eye.

Brinkley on my Queen Anne back porch his nose & face into the wind...swirls of wind dancing his coat around as sparkle snow fell around him. It looked like that picture from Titanic when they were on the top edge. It was a rather magical looking picture & like many other moments I wish it was more than my minds eye that had caught the Moment.

 

The Photog in me finds it tragic almost, the Cherokee Mom in me sees another story added.

I took very few pictures when my kids were growing up...just too busy I guess.  Now I'm a "nut with a camera".  I take my camera everywhere, and I have so many pictures of the grandkids as they are growing up.  I think someday my daughters will appreciate having them.....because now THEY'RE too busy.

There are so many of those moments, and you described one so beautifully.  I love 'swirls of wind dancing his coat around as sparkle snow fell around him.'   A picture would not have been as vivid for me.  Sometimes I think those special times are better just remembered because somehow the photo isn't as true or real as the memory.

When my kids were growing up, I don't even know if I owned a camera. Our annual Christmas card was about the only time I took a picture. What do you think my daughter grew up to be.......a photographer? Now, I have a digital camera and I run around taking pictures of my dogs. I not sure that makes sense..LOL!
