Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I haven't been super active on DK in recent years, but I know that some of the older members will remember my dog Chase. He was helped over the rainbow bridge today after a sudden illness.
He was the dog that was sent here to teach me. We had a difficult relationship in the early years, a combination of his anxiety and reactivity and my inexperience. Over time people came into my life to teach me and as I learned more about behavioural problems in dogs and came to understand him more, we developed a wonderful relationship. The last few years of building trust culminated in recently attending a Barn Hunt workshop where his behaviour was impeccable. I'm going to miss my crazy little Chase-dog. Run free little man.

I am so very sorry for your loss..
Im so sorry Stella. Its always hard to lose a beloved family member. There is a reason for all things and I am glad that he was able to teach you a few things. I don't know a lot about him but I can say that I was happy when I saw your two in the calendar. I always liked that photo!
I just read this. I am very sorry to hear about Chase.
Thanks guys, life with Chase wasn't always easy but he was part of my family. I still cry when I think about him and surprisingly Hartley misses him. The two of them didn't really get along, and were kept separate when I wasn't home, but Hartley is not happy being home alone while I am at work.
Oh Stella! I am deeply saddened to hear about Chase. As he taught you, you taught us...about determination and loyalty and never giving up. RIP sweet Chase. Hugs to you Stella.
Dogs add so much to our lives. It is so sad when we must say good-bye to them. Thinking of you and Chase and all you did together.
I am so sorry to hear about your Chase, Stella. I haven't even checked in for a couple years here, but myself with heavy heart decided to check in. Our 6 and a half year old f1b Goldendoodle, Porsche was diagnosed with lymphoma in mid May and we had to put her down on July 20th. They told us 6 to 8 weeks maybe and she gave us every bit of it, as usual, she always strived to please. I know exactly how you are feeling. Bentley our 8 year old f5 Labradoodle is helping me cope with Porsche's passing, but it's a big hole. I honestly thought we'd have many more years. I can't comprehend buying another Goldendoodle because I am afraid I would never be pleased with it's performance, Porsche was just that great of a dog.
I am waiting right now to hear from the pet transport company of them picking up the puppy I bought. It is not a doodle, but hopefully she will help fill the hole I have in my heart. I named her Boo. She is an Irish Wolfhound. I have always wanted one.
I am so sorry for your loss Stella. Thank you for letting us know about your dear Chase. I hope your memories will bring you comfort as you grieve your loss.
What a beautiful tribute. He will live in your heart and memory forever.
Thinking of you. Every dog you own takes a piece of your heart, but always leaves a piece of his in return. When the grief is less acute you will feel his piece in your heart.
