Chloe is two today!!!

My sweet Chloe turned two today and started the day with her favorite game, shredding up a plastic bag and then attacking mommy as she was on the floor picking it up. Yes, she still gets into mischief, but I'll take shredding plastic or newspapers any day over chewing on eyeglasses, couches, carpeting and rugs. She has come a long way in two years and taught me a lot along the way. She completed 3 obedience classes and 2 low impact agility classes. She learned some important words and now actually does what is asked of her! She went from barking at her brother Bailey, the African Grey parrot, to alerting me when he dive bombs to the floor. She is very gentle with him and gives him sweet kisses. She can now lay at my feet when I am working on a painting or drawing. She sleeps on my bed at night and snuggles next to me and keeps me warm. Life is certainly good with a warm puppy by my side! Our love for each other just grows and grows...Now we are off to a day of fun and surprises!

Happy Birthday! !

Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes! We had a sunny and warm day here in California and we were out and about most of the day. We went on two long walks, went to the pet store to buy some more birthday presents and ended the day at the dog park. I have been working with her to slowly reintroduce her to the dog park since she was attacked and traumatized there at Thanksgiving. Even though I did receive lots of good suggestions as to other places to go  like school yards, I decided that the safest place for both of us in our situation, was to go to the dog park later in the day when there are very few dogs there. We only go in the small dog part and I hit tennis balls for her to chase. She used to romp with the big dogs but she has been showing some fear around larger dogs since the attack. Recently, she has begun to play with some larger dogs and on her birthday she played with a beautiful standard poodle named Dante and a pit bull mix that she had played with for the last year. They are all gentle and submissive dogs and they had a great time! That really made the day for me as I have missed seeing her play. She  was one happy doodle that day!
