Closing on Friday! YARD time

The mortgage industry is crazy these days and I think they enjoy making clients squirm.  72-hours prior to our scheduled close, we JUST received final approval on our loan.  To say I have been a wreck is an understatement :)

 

Bottom line, Peri and Tacky will have a yard effective this Friday, March 25th!  We are not moving in until April 9th - have some repairs and painting the entire inside first.  But, we will be taking the dogs their on Saturday to hang in the yard while I work on the yard/gardens and DH preps for the painters (aka takes down ugly drapes from 1970s). 

 

Here is view of backyard...many of you will remember this from a previous blog post.  Front yard is large too...and slightly flatter.  This is the 2nd house we looked at and put an offer in within 1 week of househunting. It just feels right!  1 acre of goodness 5 minutes from downtown.  Yay!

 

Sorry for the self-serving post, but it does have to do with the dogs!  Yard for choodle; I've only been dreaming of this for a few years :)

How exciting ...... I remember that 1st house like it was yesterday!  Enjoy getting settled in and letting those doggies have a wonderful time.

I am going to do before and after pics. It is in great shape - 1 owner, estate sale.  Kitchen and one bath is updated already, other 2 I can live with for a while (still have tile - nothing too bad!).  It has a full basement also, just a good old ranch style house from the 50s! 

For now, we are just getting it painted inside.  Next projects will be a bathroom or something. Oh and saving for a roof!  Other than that, it has new hvac, plumbing, h20 heater, etc...  We are pretty excited!  Have been living in a condo for 6 years.  We are first time homebuyers!  This is our house with room to grow, if you know what I mean!!! :)

First, Congratulations on your new home.  It really lookslike a great house, I would love to see pictures of the inside.  It looks really big...Do you have a lot of work to do in it?,,,Besides painting and ripping down curtains, and yard work?  Like do u have to redo a kitchen or bath?...It looks like such a great house...And all that property, I am so jealous...I am so happy for all of you!!!..Oliver says to tell Lady Peri & Tacky to enjoy all that room they will now have to run, he is so jealous...Hugs to all of you!!!

That is awesome! I know my dogs have always had room to roam. But Neely has chosen a favorite shrub that he walks under to pet himself. So it will be fun to watch your guys find their special spots in the yard. One piece of advice though with that size of yard, start from day one to have  them potty in ONE Place. you can cover that area with something easier to pick up from if you want too but it really saves on people finding bombs on the lawn while enjoying outside activites. Neely can pee lots of places but poo is in one corner.
