Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I could not be more embarrassed. Today an old colleague and friend of mine who I have not seen in several years, made the trek to our fine city to visit. I was not sure if she was a dog person or not, but now she most likely is not! Gavin was his usual good-natured self upon greeting, but once we sat down to visit he decided to put on a little show. You see she was clearly not showing him the attention he deserved. So first he came out with a chew stick and placed it at her feet. Next he arrived with his stuffed dog and placed it in her lap. Cute right? As we continued talking he went back into my room and retrieved a slipper and put that in her lap. When he still got no reaction, he somehow found a dirty sock and tried to give that to her too.
Once the gift giving was over Gavin sidled up alongside her chair, struck a classic downward dog yoga pose and let out four very loud farts! OMD! Good thing there was no odour. Did I say odour? Oh yeah and for his final act he went and gobbled a bunch of water and then, you guessed it, burped right in her face. She tried to laugh it all off, but I could feel her eyes rolling inside her head. Such a proud doodle mom!

Oh Gavin, I LOVE YOU! You are truly a "Doodle guy" - Murph would be very proud of you pal.
He he he he he....hey if you don't like Gavin your gonna pay!
LOL....Gavin you started my day off with a good laugh, you funny boy! I'm not sure how your mom's friend could have possibly ignored your sweet offers of friendship and play....clearly she must be blind! So you tried another track.....appeal to her "audio" side....that didn't work....WTD! She's unreachable! Love you Gavin! I agree with Laurie....."how can anyone not be a dog person"?
Well, it seems to me Gavin started out by being very nice with all the gift giving and then when he was still being given the cold shoulder thought "who cares, I am just going to be myself." LOL How can anyone not be a dog person???
Too funny :)
Gavin sure knows how to show a guest a good time! It doesn't seem to matter how impeccable the manners are when it's just family, our doodles have to show off for company. I'm sure she is telling the story at work today and getting lots of laughs.
Do our 'kids' ever perform when and how we want them to? NOPE. She may not have gone away laughing, but I certainly am reading this.
Love this!!!
Ha Ha! Gavin was trying to tell your guest that she should make herself at home. He was being a perfect host! just be glad he didn'tbring out a pair of dirty underwear!
