So, I accidently knocked Max in the mouth and his second upper front tooth came out, but he swallowed it. We were playing on the floor and he went right for my hand while I went right for his body and clunk. It wasn't very hard. Yet, it did the trick on a loose tooth. I could see the poor guy swallow it too! The good news is that I have many other teeth to go. No, I don't plan on knocking any others out so, there is no need to call the ASPCA or PETA on me.
On a much better note - I think I can say that Max is just about accident free. He uses the poochie bells without a problem. Okay, he does nudge them every so often just to go outside to sniff the wonders of nature or look for Daddy. I've had Max since he was 7 1/2 weeks old. He is now 18 weeks old and I'd say he had only 8 potty accidents and 5 of them were the first week we had him and thankfully - they were on the hard flooring. The other three were on my carpet when he just got some new found freedom and didnt realize the house is MY crate! I went through a bottle of Urine Off faster than you can blink your eyes. All things considered, I'd say he has done very well potty training. I know he'll most likely have another accident at some point but, I'd like to stay entrapped in my dream world for this moment.
The free feeding has done remarkably well with Max. I wish I had tried it much earlier in his life. I hesitated because it's mostly not suggested as a good route to take and I do understand the drawbacks. However, Max is eating and drinking a bit more than usual which is a good thing. He has never been underweight but, I always felt as though he could easily slip underweight given his pickiness. Perhaps I worry too much. So far - So Good. I'm going to attempt switching him over to no grain as some point in the future. I'll take it one step at a time.
Max does the cutest thing when he finishes his bowl of food. He comes over to me and taps me with his paw. Then, he sits and stares at me because he wants me to go look and acknowledge that he has been a "good boy!" I make such a big deal of it and he gets so excited because he knows the reward for finishing his food. The coveted Dogswell chicken jerkey strip. He only eats a few treats which mostly consist of dehydrated sweet potato, chicken jerkey, teaspoon of Greek yogurt, teaspoon of freshly ground organic peanut butter or on a rare occassion, some treat like a Greenie. Nothing holds a light to his chicken jerkey though.
Lastly, Max just got his first dose of Frontline Plus. I hate using chemicals but, Washington State is called the Evergreen State for a reason. I'm going to look into other safer methods = perhaps Tea Tree Oil?
Have a good night!

PS - In case you can't remember where you heard "Curses, Foiled Again!" It's Rocky and Bullwinkle. Don't worry about it showing your age - I'm 35.
