Max turned one today. Thank you all for your continued help. Dog's don't come with owner manuals but, Doodle Kisses is pretty darn close.
He received a party hat, birthday cake toy, a pupcake treat, bits-o-luv chicken strips, flossie and a special meal of Merrick "Wingaling" (He was begging for more) - not to mention tons of cards, well wishes and love.
Pictures to come......

First, I would like to thank everyone who came to my page and wished me well for my birthday. That means a lot and I appreciate it. It also says a lot about this community. I'm now 36 years old and I feel like I just graduated high school! It may be because the only children I have is little furry Max. :)
I got a nice new computer for my birthday and I am now viewing gorgeous doodles on a 23" flat panel wide screen monitor. Yes, they are twice as cute now - haha!
The best…

Move over rubber duckie because you aren't the only one that makes bathtime lots of fun.
Today, I decided I would give Max a long needed bath. I've been counting the days since surgery to get all the IV fluids and yogurt out of his beard and paws - not to mention, the since accumulated, mud from all the
Poochie Bell runs. I gave Max quite a few baths over the last few months because I really wanted to get him aquainted with the idea. I even took him to the groomer at a young…

Teeheeee!
Max was on the floor playing with his three new toys - yes, I spoil him sometimes - and I see him licking his lips in an odd way. So, I looked in his mouth and what do I see? His front tooth is dangling from his gumline. Yep, I took it alright. It's just so teeny tiny!
That just made my day.

Let's just say the
Poochie Bells are working too well. Max likes to tap them when he is bored with being inside. I wouldn't mind so much but, our backyard is unfinished and the fence currently doesn't have any gates. That means I must leash Max and trudge through the muddy backyard with him just so he can spend a minute sniffing. I don't have much of a choice for I fear he will stop using the bells when it counts. We have been accident free and I've become spoiled over the last few days…

So, I accidently knocked Max in the mouth and his second upper front tooth came out, but he swallowed it. We were playing on the floor and he went right for my hand while I went right for his body and clunk. It wasn't very hard. Yet, it did the trick on a loose tooth. I could see the poor guy swallow it too! The good news is that I have many other teeth to go. No, I don't plan on knocking any others out so, there is no need to call the ASPCA or PETA on me.
On a much better note - I…

Last night I noticed that Max had a few loose teeth and today he lost his top front tooth (incisor). Unfortunately, I haven't found it! I bet the tooth fairy will leave Max a chicken jerkey for his effort. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but, today is his last day of pain medication from the neutering. I froze a washcloth for him to chew on. I can't wait for those sharp canines to vanish. :D
Today, I tried free feeding. He is so picky and just isn't into eating and so far, so good.…

Max has been himself today.
He even chewed the pain medication without a problem.
He did start to lick his incision so, I put a 12 month Onsie on him. He looked so cute and pathetic. I'll have to post a picture. I cut out a hole for his little stubby docked tail. Poor thing, as though this hasn't been embarrassing enough.
I do however, have one problem. He isn't eating his kibble. It isn't that he isn't hungry. It's because he was spoiled for the last two days…

If I had to sum today up in one word, I'd say - normal.
It would seem as though Max has no clue the "BIG GUNS" are gone. He is behaving as usual.
I fed him his favorite, chicken breast, for breakfast and lunch. At dinner - he ate most of his kibble. So, I will now continue feeding him his normal meals (kibble).
This morning, it really hit me that he is a furry kid. I gave him his pain medication, which is chewable, but - he really wasn't interested. So, I…

Hello Friends!
As promised, I'm keeping you all updated on Max's surgery (neuter).
Things went wonderfully yesterday.
First, I just want to say that the vet was wonderful. If you recall, Max's original vet was old school and didn't want to perform the surgery until he was 6 months old. He was very nice so, this isn't anything against him. However, Max humps everything in sight and he began marking so, I caved to pressure and decided to have him neutered.…

Wednesday, Max is going in to be neutered.
He will be 4 months old to the day. His vet didn't want to neuter him until 6 months old but, Max has been "humping" everything in site. He also started marking his territory last night by lovingly peeing on his plush toy cow. Betsy wasn't having it! - LOL
So, this morning, I decided to call another vet and make an appointment for the BIG snip.
They say hindsight is 20/20.
If anyone has any advice on how I…
