The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny Cometh

Last night I noticed that Max had a few loose teeth and today he lost his top front tooth (incisor). Unfortunately, I haven't found it! I bet the tooth fairy will leave Max a chicken jerkey for his effort. He doesn't seem to be in any pain but, today is his last day of pain medication from the neutering. I froze a washcloth for him to chew on. I can't wait for those sharp canines to vanish. :D

Today, I tried free feeding. He is so picky and just isn't into eating and so far, so good. He has eaten almost his entire ration. Maybe Max is just one of those dogs that does better with free feeding. I'll throw in a half cup in the morning and then throw in another half cup late afternoon/early evening. That way, he won't have the chance to "wolf" down his food and I can keep track of how much he eats. The whole 20 minute feeding thing doesn't work for Max because he just isn't food oriented. He will not eat you out of house and home. He gets a cup a day at this point. I also give him one treat per day. His treats ae mostly either a dried sweet potato or chicken jerky. I have some Greenies but he isn't into them anymore. I prefer to go the more natural route anyway. Now, if I could only get him to eat some no-grain food again! Maybe it will work with the free feeding?

Max almost gave me a heart attack the other night. He jumped off the back of the sofa! He got the zoomies and ran around like a nut case leaping onto the sofa and then off the back. Thankfully, his incision is just fine. I really didn't feel like going back to the vet and explain how Max opened his incision.

I hope everyone is having a blessed Easter weekend. I'm off to start preparing dinner.

Hi Danielle. . .my name is Shawn South-Aswad and I have 2 doodles. . .Miss Groovy Tallulah Bleu is 11 months old (FB1 Red) and Finn???? is brand new, he is 8 weeks old and we have had him for only a few days, he is a cream giant Teddy Bear. . . anyway, somehow I ran across your blog and wanted to ask you if you have tried Orijen Dog Food? It is gluten/grain free.. . organic, all natural, no preservatives. . . .it's WONDERFUL and our dogs all love it dearly. We free feed as well (Finn makes number 5 and we do rescue as well, so free feeding here seems like a must as we never have food aggression issues. . .I know Cesar doesn't free feed his pack, but it works for us!). . . .anyway. . .I've yet to find a dog that doesn't love or thrive on the Orijen. When we switched we had two dogs with allergy issues . . . within a week, they were gone!!! And I've never seen anything so amazing as their coats. I just couldn't praise the food more.. . .and no stomach issues with any of our dogs, so that is a plus. I have finally convinced our local pet store to carry it and they are now head over heels for it as well. You can order it from K9 cuisine or pawschoice. . .both online.

Anyway, this may be old news to you, but I thought I'd just shout out my two cents worth!!!!

LOL when Hannah lost her baby teeth we actually saved them, I know it sounds stupid but when they are gone its a way for me to have that puppy to remember. I'm gonna leave the next topic for another day..lol.
