So today was the day I was going to meet Dexter for the first time.  After about four hours of sleep I got in my car to make the three hour drive to see my boy.  My three hour drive turned into six after the main road was shut down from an accident plus traffic galore.  My eyes were blurry, my legs stiff and my brain fogged but I finally made it!  Time to meet my little man!

I will start off by saying he is the sweetest little boy.  He came right to me and said hello.  He was very happy and loving. Absolutely adorable too if I might add.  In fact all of the babies were.  I'm so glad I wasn't the first to pick a puppy because I wouldn't have been able to choose.  Each one cute as can be.  Dexter seemed to be a relaxed mellow little dood so it was time to try on his life jacket!

The life jacket didn't bother him one bit so we took him outside (for the first time ever) and brought him over to the kayak. I got in first and got settled before bringing Dexter on board.  Once again he was just happy to be with me so he relaxed right away.  Then we were off!  I just floated around in the calm water to let him get used to his new weekend activity.  He loved it.  He just looked around and took it all in.  At one point he climbed on my lap and laid down.  He acted like he had been doing this for years.  I finally found my kayak buddy.

Here are the pictures that his breeder took of us on the water:

After kayaking we went back inside and I got to watch him explore and play.  Such a sweet little boy.  I can't wait to bring him home.  Just a few more days before our adventures begin.  As I left I saw him peeking thru the glass window watching me leave.  Hard to say goodbye even if it is just for a week.  I love him so much already.

We bought kayaks in the hopes to kayak with our two dogs. Our Vern is 100 pounds, so we even got a double one. LOL We don't do it as often as we like, but we do paddleboard with them and they love our pontoon boat. Enjoying our nearby lake with our dogs is such a wonderful way to spend the day. Enjoy your time kayaking with your sweet pup. He will be a wonderful kayak partner!

Here is our Fudge with my husband!
