The Dog Days of Summer in Cardiff by the Sea, a North San Diego Coastal town is advertised as: San Diego County's largest dog-centric event!  It is scheduled for Saturday, May 10th between 10 AM and 4 PM and the day-long event draws over 10,000 attendees from all over San Diego. There are over 200 vendors, a Blessing of the Dogs with the Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center (who wouldn't want their dogs blessed that way?), 10 dog contests, tasty food, a kid's zone, a doggie cool zone, specialty pet products & services, pet adoptions from local shelters & rescue organizations, an agility course, a doggie photo booth, and a large silent auction! Our American Maltese Rescue has a booth reserved and Judy and I will be there along with several of our volunteers. The weather is expected to be absolutely beautiful for this event with a forecast high of 71 degrees F.  Last year, Judy and I broiled in the heat and we were the only ones attending the booth.  This year, our organization has grown and there will be several volunteers to there help and to give us a break.

Last year, there were lots of doodles and their owners at the Dog Days event and I wonder if any of you were there?  We hope to see you there.  Take a San Diego vacation to get out of the August heat of your hometowns...

 Sat. - August 10th?  We are leaving on the 11th for a dogless vacation and this might be a fun way to spend our last day.
