We are getting a doodle to foster from Doodle Rescue Collective, Inc.  She is a year older than Holly and has come from a home with smaller dogs and a larger dog.  Although Holly adores the Maltese, I am sure that Holly will be happy to have a girl her own size to play with.

Here is the picture we were sent of this poor girl.  She looks like she needs some TLC!

Cocoa his become protective.  We heard her bark for the first time tonight as there were some people walking by my fence. I live in a semi rural area and a person walking at night is a rarity.  Anyway, although Cocoa is a bit smaller in size than Holly, her bark is quite a bit deeper and louder.

We had all the dogs out for the last potty trip when two people walked by our house.  The little Maltese went yip, yip and then the two doodles joined in with their booming barks.  I am sure that no one who had bad ideas would select our home....

Cocoa looks much better and she is a beautiful Doodle!  You both are amazing and thanks so much!

Cocoa is looking better.  Judy trimmed her face a bit and she is feeling much healthier since the removal of her abscessed molar.  I know that I would!

We have an appointment with our groomer for Tuesday, August 20th,  The groomer is an ex-poodle breeder and really knows how to spruce up poodle-doodle type dogs.  We are looking forward to seeing her after the beauty parlor...

I think Cocoa has just hit the doggie equivalent of the Lottery. I just know she is going to blossom under your care and I can't wait to see further updates. Thanks to you, your wife, and Kelly Blackwood for helping Cocoa.

What a wonderful thing you did for poor Cocoa. It sounds like things are looking up for her, how wonderful to be able to watch her come out of her shell.

UPDATE...  We had Cocoa into our vet, yesterday, to remove the abscessed molar Kelly Blackwood spotted at the 2-AM workup in her Clinic, Sunday morning.  Our doodle also had her nails trimmed to a workable length and she seems to walk a lot better now.  She is on pain pills prescribed by out vet and is continuing on the Clavamox antibiotic regimen provided by Kelly...

Kelly was certainly an Eskimo to Cocoa.  The expresion "Eskimo" for some one who comes along and helps unexpectedly comes from his little story:

An Alaskan prospector was telling his friend that he didn't believe in God.  He said that he was lost in a blizzard and about to die from cold and starvation and prayed to God for help.  His friend said, "God must have helped, you are here aren't you?"  The prospector replied, "God had nothing to do with it.  As soon as I finished praying, a Eskimo  came along on his sled and brought me here to safety!"

Cocoa definitely feels better this morning! She is lively and more animated and her tail is up, not drooping down like before the dental surgery...

I don't think that Cocoa has ever walked on grass before.  After all, Ridgecrest is not famous as a town full of lush green lawns.  The doodle walks very delicately on the grass and must have sniffed for fifteen minutes to decide where she will water the grass. She is learning all sorts of new things and is just a wonderful dog.  If Cocoa wasn't such a fitting name, I'd call her "Shadow" because she has become my shadow...

We will feed her soft food for a few days while her gum heals from the extraction.  I was feeding her when Holly came up and sniffed at her bowl, no growling from Cocoa.  Then when she went over to sniff Holly's bowl, our doodle didn't growl either.  They are friends and have no resource aggression...

I expect that the two doodles will soon soon be playing as Cocoa improves and feels more frisky.  After all, she is only a year and a half older than our Holly.  That is certainly not an old lady...

Oh poor thing!  Looks like she doesn't have a lot of fur on her nose :(

I've been following her posts on facebook and just can not believe anyone would want to put down a perfectly healthy dog!  I'm so happy that she is safe now.
