After having lots, and lots, and lots of pictures taken this morning, I will be back for a six month follow up. Jess was waiting for me and I was feeling over abused. Let's just leave it at that.

Jess was in good spirits and ready to go when I arrived. His body and mind were ready to go, nothing else. I packed up and took a few trips to the car. The discharge nurse arrives sometime after Jess's lunch and went over his twelve medications (that must be individually crushed since he swallowing still is not there), how to do the saline flush to his gall bladder (easy) and a fifteen page document covering , if this, do this, if this, call the doctor.

It was good to get him out of the building and in to the car. It was a hot one, but it was beautiful and the sun was illuminating all the greens of nature. We took the back roads over the freeway to stop at my sister's home to pick up an airbed. I did not want Jess to sleep alone downstairs so all four of us will be together tonight.

After a nice visit with my sis we headed home. Jess walked into the spare room and wanted to take a nap. Immediately, the pups joined him. They were crying happy puppy tears when he arrived. I took off to the grocery store and ran into at least a dozen people form school and the neighborhood, sharing the excitement of Jess's homecoming.

Jess's first meal home was a tilipia fillet that I marinated in lemon, olive oil, onions, and black pepper. I chopped some avocado, onion, cilantro, and tomato for a topping. Red potato and squash. I thought is was pretty tasty for a super low sodium meal. Jess enjoyed it.

Thanks for all your support in bringing Jess home. Before we left a card from Michele and Penny the Wonderdog arrived. Penny is a knockout! Thanks for putting a smile of Jess's face.

After filling the RX's and organizing them it has been a full day. I am on empty, but so glad he is home.

Thank-you for sharing these wonderful pictures. Jess, you look amazing. Janet, I hope all your tests were ok today. You and Jess have just finished a marathon, on second thought, an Iron Man.

Welcome home, Jess! Janet, the photos are terrific - the pups look sooooo happy, and I think Jess looks like 10 million lbs. have been lifted from his shoulders. Being home will do that for you. When I heard Jess was coming home, I thought, "Oh no! I just sent him a card!" I'm delighted to hear he got it! Hopefully we'll all see each other soon in person for a doodle romp. Make sure YOU are getting enough rest, Janet - it sounds like you're really under some enormous strain. I'm just up the road in Scottsdale if you need anything AT ALL.

Thanks, Janet, for keeping us updated on Jess' recovery, I really enjoyed reading all of your blogs. I hope you both can get some rest now and get your life back on track.
