Tomorrow, Tomorrow....It's only a day away...

I was getting ready for work this morning and heard this awful clanging. A persistent sound of metal, repeatedly being dropped against the floor, resonating with a pitch off the high ceilings.
Here I am, thinking about tomorrow, trying to focus, thoughts about bringing home Jess, to what kind of noise is this?

Phoebe.

It was Phoebe. (Did some of you already guess that?)
She managed to grab a small Reverware measuring cup. Apart from the fact it is nearly an antique and I could ebay it, it’s become useful scoop (she ate the silicone cup) for Hobbes's kibble. Evidently, this cup is more engaging than the Kong. (been there, done that)

I worked today. Jess sounds good via phone. I left his cell with him, so when I here his personal rumba beat, I immediately get happy. It’s like old times, only he is not calling from the office to see how my day went, he is calling form the hospital to report about his. He had another echo. Results most likely will be reported at the end of the week when he sees the surgeon.
Nephew Phil came over to move a bed downstairs to a spare room. I’m not sure how long it will take for Jess to be comfortable walking up and down stairs, so I have prepared a room that falls a little short of a man cave. He will have all his creature comforts downstairs and the real creatures too. I’m sure all four of us will have a pajama party his first night home.

I will get up early in the morning for a diagnostic ultrasound and a mamo. That should be delightful. Last year I was worried. This year? Eh.
Then I’ll pop up to Mayo. I’m sure we will be there all day and I’ll get to take Jess home in the height of rush hour traffic, equipped with heart health literature and charts to record daily stats. I know there will be a day when we get into the routine, but the change in our lives will hit hard these next few weeks.

Unfortunately, I am bringing Jess home on our first 100 degree day. He was cooped up during our beautiful spring weather. He needs to walk some and I can’t send him out in the heat! I am hoping we are having a heat wave and we will have cooler days through May. At any rate, he's coming home!!!

100 degrees!!! I live in Toronto-it will be 9 celcius tomorrow which converts to about 48 degrees Farenheit. Can't there be a happy medium?? Re Jess and the walking-sounds like it will stay hot there for awhile now and he really must walk. What about a treadmill that he can use in the nice airconditioned house. If you don't want to buy one-you can rent one for a few months. I don't know much about US health plans-but perhaps this might be covered. He has to walk-and 100 degrees is ridiculous. Many of our heart patients here in Canada go to a rehab facility for a few hours a day where physiotherapists work with them on a treadmill, or a pool etc. This is all covered here in Ontario by our healthcare system. I wish you and Jess a wonderful homecoming!

Ron and I were talking this morning about the long hot summer ahead. At least if we get thru today, it starts cooling down a bit again! We cut on the AC yesterday, couldn't take it any more! I am so happy Jess is coming home. If he is like Ron he will be up and ready to go in the AM only to have the doctors and nurses doing final checks and paperwork all day! Most likely after lunch you will be on your way home. My condolences on the Mamo...I always hate those! Get Jess home and relax with the pooches and take a deep breath. Then tomorrow the traveling circus begins! Trips to Mayo, logs to keep, blood pressure taking, temperature taking, medicine taking at special times...what fun it is! At least he is home! Do you have a treadmill for the really hot days so Jess can walk inside?

WOOT! This will be a great (and probably exhausting) day for you - as you drive home tonight, listen closely to see if you can hear the cheers of everyone here. It'll be like a parade! And Pheobe is such a clown, she's sure to be good medicine for Jess. So happy for you.

He's coming home! So great to hear those words! Can't wait to hear about Hobbes and Phoebe's reaction when they see their Daddy! The temperature here in Chicago is 38 degrees this a.m....I would be glad to send some of this cool air your way!
Have a wonderful day, and enjoy the PJ party tonight!
