Doodle Diary, 09.28.09--NINE BIG POUNDS!
Sable is g-r-o-w-i-n-g! She is 9 pounds as of this morning! Wow, I can hardly believe it! She's cute, fluffy, sweet, silly, and a wee-bit naughty... This morning when Grandma Louise arrived, she commenced to hop, twirl and run about the house, bouncing off the walls! So cute...
I've noticed that Sable enjoys hopping around on her hind legs, doing what appears to be acrobatics at times! if I hold up a toy above her nose; she'll hop up, and usually hop backwards a couple steps, it's soooooo adorable!
Update with the kids: Vanessa, my 4 year old still is not "getting" that Sable does not like to be picked up a zillion times a day, also, she is not the most gentle with her "hugging".... I have to work on her obedience training a bit more, I fear she thinks she is leader of the pack, (those red heads I tell ya!). As for Laila, her and her "Puppet", as she calls her, are bonding more and more each day. Sable seems to somehow know, that she HAS to be gentle with the baby. If I'm playing with Sable, and she is mouthing my hands and Laila comes along, putting her little teeny fingers in harms way, Sable ever so carefully avoids them, and NEVER jumps up on her chest any more. It's great to see them together. Sable is definitely one "smart cookie"
Speaking of smartness, tonight is Sable's debut at "Hand-n-Paw" Obedience Training/Puppy classes! The breeder called to confirm her registration last week, said she visited the websites of the breeders I mentioned, that the breed seemed very interesting, and that she was looking forward to meeting & working with her! Wow, amazing what a little education can do! =)
Sidebar: My bee sting is heeled, I love the new shoes, Sable chewed her Lupine lead in half (errrrrrrrrrr), I chickened out bringing Sable into the grocery store with us when I saw the sign "no pets allowed", DH still won't play with her, Toby and Cody run & play more and more with her, she is starting play/chase/fetch with a tennis ball, and...that's all I can think of! I may have to add a supplemental blog tonight after we come home from Sable's first day of puppy-kindergarten-----stay tuned!
