Doodle Kisses (I wonder where I got that name)

Penny is "known" for her hugs and kisses. Yet, if she's not in the mood, forget about it. Yesterday, though, she was extremely affectionate. I'm not sure what brought on this love-fest but she was very loving the whole day long. Last evening she even jumped onto our laps while we were watching TV. Penny is getting bigger so once on our lap, we were stuck in the chair. If we had to use the restroom-- well too bad! DH and I wear glasses, so after the "Doodle Hugs and Kisses" our glasses have slobber and saliva all over them. We have learned to take our glasses off if we see Penny coming. Penny was even affectionate to Lexi, our 10 year old lab-mix. She went up to her and lavished Lexi with kisses. Lexi curled her lip up, starting to give a friendly growl, but even she couldn't resist the attention. Our old beagle/basset is always tormented by Penny. Why does Penny tease Suzy so much? Because she can and because she gets a reaction. I mean, are we practically talking about child behavior here? Anyway, Suzy got wet sloppy kisses from Penny too. Yesterday morning, before I hadn't even gotten out of bed, Penny jumped on the bed and promptly laid on me crossways. I was still laying down and I couldn't budge. I softly cried "help" in a non-scary way. Finally DH heard me and came into the bedroom. He nearly fell on the floor laughing so hard. Penny, literally, had me pinned down. I'm so glad Penny was comfortable because I wasn't. Again, if I had to use the restroom (which I did)--too bad. My DH works at an animal hospital. When he sees a Doodle, he always asks the parents if their Doodle gives "Doodle Hugs". Every single time, the others say yes! This is the first time we've ever had a dog show affection in this manner. I'm thrilled when Penny is all lovey-dovey. I mean, there's nothing better than when your dog wants to bestow all sorts of loving on you!

Awww...Fudge makes you earn her kisses, too. You know you are really special when Fudge gives you a kiss. Penny must be the same way. Maybe she just woke up and decided to let you know how much she loves you!! I guess sometimes we should be careful what we wish for....LOL :) Nice blog!!
