Three years ago on Palm Sunday, we had a very heavy wet snow. I have absolutely no recollection of this whatsoever. I take photos of everything but I don't have any pictures of the snow 3 years ago (but I have some photos off my mom's camera). It as 6-10" deep (depending where you lived). I told my husband (who doesn't remember that snowfall either) that we must have been off the planet that day. Fast forward to today, Palm Sunday 2016. It's snowing again. And this time I have the pleasure of watching my puppy in the snow. Penny's been outside several times in the snow this morning. The snowflakes that have come down are hamster-sized flakes. Of course, Penny got drenched; completely wet with snow all over her. She quickly got covered. It's so fun to watch her. We have an old tree stump that Penny sometimes sits on, watching her kingdom. She looks like a queen about to make a speech to her subjects. Today she was on the stump and had her head raised towards the sky, catching the huge snowflakes. Then she got the zoomies. OMD! Even though the ground is only white (without any real accumulation), she went beserk. Penny is convinced this weather is happening simply for her entertainment. As Penny was galloping around the yard, she had her mouth wide open catching the snow. Then she did what she has always done in wet weather: She laid down as though she was basking in warm sunshine. I mean, really? She decided to play fetch. Since we were not outside with her, she found one of her balls and threw it in the air herself and then retrieved it. Half the time after she tossed the ball in the air, she got sidetracked and decided the snow was more fun than the ball. Who can blame her? We enjoyed the snow from the inside, mesmerized by the giant flakes that came down so heavy we couldn't see across the street. Penny is now sleeping on the couch totally wiped out from her romp in the snow.

I love the description of hamster-sized flakes! It's so cool how much they love snow!
