Picture of the event of a flight of mercy. These two dogs were in a shelter in Ontario, Or. Brad, the pilot with his plane flew from Portland to Ontario, Or. to bring them back to Portland on his own time and expense! I just met the plane, and have them overnight. To be picked up tomorrow morning by their foster dad. They are both great dogs with unfortunate events that happened beyond their control. Rory's owner passed on, Harley's owner had to move out of state both ended up in a shelter in Ontario! The pilot really liked Harley, the black one and wished he could take him. But family situation prohibited it. Brad had to fly in very bad conditions to get them here! He didn't want to fly above the bad weather, as not to put the dogs through undo stress in altitude. It meant longer flight, but he got them here safe and sound! In fact after they landed and the dogs were out airing, he opened the plane door and Harley tried to jump back in! He was ready to take off and go again. Rory, slept most of the trip. I want to thank the DRC for all their planning and work involved in this. Liz, Adrianne, Christina and Brad Milligan. The Doodle Rescue Collective works hard to save as many Doodles across the US as humanly possible! If you can support it would be very welcome!! Right now Harley is asleep on the cushioned lawn chair, and Rory is asleep on the deck. Will be putting them in their crates shortly . Hope everthing works out for the both of them, they deserve a better life! It is so great to have dedicated people with a common goal, save our friends when in need!!

This is a really wonderful story of Doodle lovers "pulling out all the stops" to save these two dogs.  Thanks, Charles and all the others involved with this rescue.  This story just made my day.

Yeah!  When I saw these guys on Petfinder I was hoping DRC could pull off the transport.  Thank you so much to everyone involved in their rescue - the shelter they were in gets pretty full and now these boys are safe and soon to be in furever homes.

Charles, thank you so much for helping Harley and Rory! This rescue has had all of us holding our breath with all the variables involved. Kudos to Liz Syring for orchestrating this from the opposite side of the country, and to you and Brad for getting them to safety. Thanks also to the foster parents who have stepped up and offered to take them in. These two doodles have a much brighter future ahead thanks to all of you!

Hello, thank you for the work you are doing to help save these dogs and find them the right home.  We are interested in finding another perfect labradoodle for us.  The picture you see attached is our beautiful Coach Tom Landry, who is 3 years old.  We have 3 daughters, ages 12, 9, and 5.  We loved Coach so much and planned a long life with him, arguing about which daughter would get to take him to college with her.  Last August, with no warning, our sweet boy went to sleep in his crate one night and didn't awaken the next day.  We were devastated, and really still are.  We are ready to love another, but we must have a great temperament, gentle, non-shedding and hypoallergenic dog due to 2 asthmatics in our home and the fact that the 5 year old is still small.  Any thoughts on how we can proceed to bring another labradoodle home with us?
