Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Yvonne N had posted on my page after Mater's TV spot so, as I'm sure we all do, I went to her page to see more of her doodle. While there I read her Nov 30 blog about "no personality=no doodles" and some of the many comments. I had to laugh as a few were really funny!

But then it struck me just how much we ARE a community! Our doodles do bring us together and create a true bond. I was thinking that we could probably even post on DoodleKisses where we were headed on vacations and we'd have instant invitations to visit! It seems like our favorite friends since we have had Mater are our Doodle owner friends. These are special dogs and it seems that everyone loves them. Like Yvonne pointed out, if you don't like attention and don't want instant friends, then a doodle is definitely not the dog for you.

It really is great that we are all here for each other. We shed tears for people we've never met and dogs we didn't know when tragedy strikes our four-legged buddies, and we share each other's joy in new puppies (and new kids like Adina's little Natalie)!

Thanks, Adina, for creating a place for us! I love you guys!

Right there with you Kathy!!! I have met some wonderful people through DK and our doodles. I truly used to not do much on the weekends and hubby does many side jobs. But now, things are a little slow for him and he is wondering where the heck I am going every weekend and who I am doing it with :o Letting the doods romp of course and enjoying all of our new friends..... We also have met doodle friends in other states and they are just as wonderful!

Karen, I understand your friend's DD. We ARE nuts, but what a great time we nuts are all having. When my kids were home we were so involved with all of their activities, we never had time for our own. Now that we are virtually empty nesters, we can do what we want - and I want to communicate with my doodlekisses friends. I agree Kathy, I feel like I could get in my RV and drive across country with doodle friends to visit at every stop. I appreciate the place to share, ask questions, give advice. I think that we all have a common bond with our doodles and I appreciate sharing my doodle with others and having others share their doods with me. I wish you all the best holiday season ever and a wonderful new year.

Over the many many months that I have been a part of doodlekisses Lucy and I have made soooo many wonderful friends from all over the world. Just a few we have seen, but most we have not and will never see and we still consider you all very close friends. I had a friends DD join as she had a new doodle. She became a member and then I never saw her on here again. I aked her mother why she is not on the site anymore and she said her DD said we are all nuts and she just doesn't have time for that. WELL, don't you think I told her a thing or 2. YES, we are nuts, nuts about our doodles and love to make new doodle friends, share doodle stories, doodle pics and romp together when we can. I also told her that her DD will never know what she is missing out on. THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING FRIENDS TO LUCY AND I

You've put it all into words. I am fortunate to have some wonderful friends and family none of whom own doodles. I find I spend more time here than with any of them individually, which is something they can't understand. Luckily they just shake their heads and they probably think I always was a bit "different". I have never been involved in an online community and I couldn't quite understand it myself. But now I look forward to people's personal and doodle updates, valuable information and funny exchanges. Where else could I be anticipating more news on "The Curious Case of the Mystery Turds", and a recipe from Joanne~Spud & F. Lace on liver snacks. So indeed thanks to Adina, Clark who not only shares her but has added his expertise into the mix, and of course tothe beautiful Natalie, who may come first but at least we all figure in somewhere, Cass, Thule and Rosco. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, fun Kwanzaa and anything else you may or may not celebrate. Looking forward to another DK year.

It is amazing. I have always been a kind of loner, keeping to myself and seriously independent. Then came the dood. Following that; dogpark + friends, training classes+ freinds, DK = friends. All of a sudden I am organizing doodle rescue fundraisers, organizing romps, soliciting donations from strangers, etc. Even receiving 50+ Christmas cards from those friends. Quite a good thing doodles have done for my life! Like Kathy said I cry, laugh and share in everybody's lives....Again, thanks Adina....
