Doods.... Today is my 2nd Doodleversary!!!!

Hi Doods,

Shelby here!  I know it has been far too long since I blogged, but I just had to log on today and blog because today is a very special day.... it's my doodleversary - meaning it's been 2 years since the day my mom brought me home to OUR home!   It's been an amazing 2 years and I look forward to so many more.  When mom woke up - she remembered our special day right away and I got lots of loving!  We started today with a nice long walk at with two of my doggie friends.... and hopefully tonight I will get to romp with Knox and Ollie (he sleeping over at Knox's).  I hear there will be presents later!

So in honor of my 2nd doodleversary with my mom, I'd thought I would share some updates from the past year - things I have learned, things I have accomplished and things that I just have to share!!!

In no particular order, here are highlights from the past year:

1.  I have learned how to jump up on the bed.... now I get to sleep there too, it's awesome!

2.  I have learned how to howl.... I love to howl when I hear sirens.... but I only howl in private!   My mom keeps trying to get me on video, but I stop as soon as I see/hear her!  

3.  I've become more skilled in stealing laundry.... I am now very stealth like and often times go undetected!

4.  My crate has been taken down and is stored in the garage.   (Yay!....)

5.  I love walks with my mom....

6.  I graduated from my intermediate obedience class.   I'm looking forward to my next class.

7.  I've learned how to go jogging with my mom.  She just ran her first 1/2 marathon, so during her training - I got to run with her on the shorter runs! 

8.  I am very fortunate to have many doggie friends.... both doodle and non-doodle!  We get to have playdates, go for walks together and play at the dog park!   Shoutout to Knox, Tucker, Ollie, Malu, Rosie and Bandit - my doodle friends!

9.  I've learned to walk off leash at an off leash park with trails in the woods!  It is so much fun to be able to run and run... but I always come back when called.   The truth is - I never let my mom get out of my sight.... I keep turning back to make sure she is still there.  

10. I learned that if your human falls down while running on the trails - you should stick close (sit or lay down by their side), give kisses and wait until they get up.... they may be hurt, but it's important that you stick by their side - it makes them happy!   (yes doods - this happened, no serious injuries!)

11.  I've become obsessed with the game of fetch!  I greet my mom every day with a tennis ball when she comes home from work, the store, or where ever she may have gone!  

12.  I showed mom that I can jump in and out of the tub on my own.... no more lifting required!   (she was excited)

13.  I've had the chance to help a doodle puppy learn the ropes - Yep, Ollie and I are friends!   (Knox has helped too)

14.  I love water in all forms.... lakes, streams, fountains, rain, puddles, sprinklers.... you name it - I want to play in it!

15.  I really love cats... I just wish they weren't so afraid of me.  I know a few cats who will hang out with me and let me smell them.  That's all I really want to do... and play with them!

16.  I still get the zoomies.... almost everyday -  I love to zoom around.  Although.... zoomies on a leash is not fun for me or mom.

17.  I love playing chase around the couch with my mom.... (really anyone who will play with me)

18.  Being pet, hugged, kissed and loved by my mom is the best thing ever.... so I make sure she knows how much I lover her. 

It's been a great year my doodle friends.... I hope you all know when your doodleversary is.  It's a special day for you and your human family!!!    What do you do to celebrate your doodleversary?!?
