Well,we accidentally found out that she can swim! This weekend we were walking near one of the ponds in our development and she took off in a run to leap in the water. Under she went and popped up with a surprise look on her face. we were about to jump in after her, but she swam to the bank. Must be the poodle part of her. I don't know if Bernese Mountain dogs like water. Will have to check that out.

Actually, I am not sure. I was looking at classified sites and happened upon it. When I called there were two females left. I said I would talk to my husband and when I called her back an hour later, only one was left! I jumped on it and a week later she was here. She was ten hours away so we opted to fly her but had to wait for the temp to get above 20. Next time I will go get the puppy.,- too much stress on her

Wow! How wonderful...she sounds like an angel (and she is too darn cute for words!). We are in VA Beach, and while we're fairly average most of the year, the summers get pretty hot and humid. How did you find your breeder...there definitely don't seem to be many sites about them (yes, I looked LOL)?

Tracey - this puppy is so unbelievably perfect (3 1/2 months) that we are going more another one at the next breeding. Potty trained, only chews her own toys, amuses herself - I could go on and on. You could handle another puppy in 5 months! Where do you live that it is so hot? Ella came from Silver Mountain Kennels in Nebraska

Oh my goodness, I've never heard of a Bernedoodle!!! I've ALWAYS wanted a Bernese Mountain Dog, but got talked out of it because of their size (hips) and how hot it would be here for one =(. But a BERNEDOODLE!!! Oh no...hubby is not going to be pleased LOL.

A friend of mine had one that LOVED the water =). Not sure if it's typical for the breed, but he was definitely as big a fan of it as our Golden was!

You'll have to join the group of doodles that like to swim now! Or is it doodles that like the water. Anyway its a group on here that discusses their water loving doodles. She must get her swimming ability from the poodle, I agree because the Bernese was designed to pull carts and guard livestock as far as I know, not to swim.
