Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I've always kind of wondered what my limit of dogs would be. I'm still not sure of the exact number, but I know I'm over at the moment. In my house right now there are;

My usual 6 dogs that live here. My poodle stud, a golden retriever, a labradoodle, two goldendoodles and our chihuahua.

A litter of 6 pups that are 6 weeks old

Another litter of 6 pups that are 4 weeks old

My sister in law is camping this week so I have her 85 pound doodle until tomorrow

My guardian home left for vacation a few days ago so I have Bella (F1b labradoodle) for the next week.

I have two dogs that are retiring within the next year so have kept my eyes open for a couple new dogs. I am thrilled to say that as of Thursday, I have three WONDERFUL new dogs that I'll add to my program within the next year. Their temperament's are fantastic! A few tests still need to be completed, but if all goes well they'll be having pups in several months. So.... When you add the three new dogs to the above list, my house is bursting at the seams!!! It took me 35 minutes to feed everyone this morning!

The good news is that they are all sweet, well trained (for the most part) and are loving all the play time. Fortunately I have a very large yard. Basically I've been rotating dogs for the last two days. Front yard, house, back yard. And at night? 7 are in crates and the others (not the litters of course) are left out. I was a little nervous when I woke up this morning, but all was well and orderly! I was quite impressed!

So for the next few days it's doodle camp at my house! During the day it's not that big of a deal, but mornings and feeding time are a bit crazy! The new dogs will settle in quickly and once the "borders" go home it will be less chaotic.

I need to mow the lawn today but am not quite sure how I'll get it accomplished... Maybe the dogs will help? :o)

Yes, but 12 of them are under 6 pounds each. :o)

I got the lawn mowed today, groomed a dog, helped my husband build a whelping box, took care of the kids and am now cleaning the house and scrubbing the floors at 9:30 because I have a house full of people coming over tomorrow. By Monday I'll be exhausted and drop!

That's too many for me. Right now I only have 2 and that's OK for now. In the future, I'd like a couple more. I would love to visit you and roll around and cuddle all those doodles.

LOL, too funny. If only I could figure out a way to market dog fertilizer..... Goodness, I'd be a millionaire!

The females will also kill your weeds. (Shame they don't recognize grass from weeds...but bless their hearts, they do try...)

Sorry to tell you the dogs refuse to mow the lawn but they willingly dig some of it up and "trim" the long pieces at the edges. They also fertilize!

Wow. Just...wow. One's a handful. I can't even FATHOM that many dogs at one time in one place. Best of luck to you!
