Extra Virgin Max (aka Neutering)

Wednesday, Max is going in to be neutered.

He will be 4 months old to the day. His vet didn't want to neuter him until 6 months old but, Max has been "humping" everything in site. He also started marking his territory last night by lovingly peeing on his plush toy cow. Betsy wasn't having it! - LOL

So, this morning, I decided to call another vet and make an appointment for the BIG snip.

They say hindsight is 20/20.

If anyone has any advice on how I can prepare and help Max through this, please feel free to comment. I would be very appreciative.

My husband took off work to be with me and I purchased some onsies to put on him (Max of course!) so he doesn't bother his wound. I hate those e-collars. I was thinking of bringing in a sleep shirt to put in Max's kennel while he is at the vet. They also suggested bringing in some food for him since he is so picky.

I knew I would love my doodle but, it is shocking how much I think of him as my child. I love him deeply.

Thoughts...advice?

The onesie worked for Max, but he is a mini doodle and pretty good about leaving things alone. I still have that onesie with his first collar and puppy teeth. :)

Cut off for water and food is usually midnight, but I would call the vet. I usually stop earlier that that.

Someone who has been through this please comment. I have an appointment on Friday. The vet who is doing it is not in his office, and I cant remember what time they told me to cut off his food and water, anyone know? I never heard of using onsies. Does that really work? I know they suggested an e collar to me.

Bear has his big day on April 17th. I have no idea what to expect or what to do for him so I'll be keeping an eye on this. Good luck tomorrow Max!

I laughed out loud when I read the part about Betsy! That is so funny. I have no suggestions, but am looking forward to seeing what people suggest since I'll be going through this in a couple of months.
